Chapte 3: Crushes and Fears

The rest of the day went by actually pretty fast! I rode home with Tyler. He's a fantastic driver. No matter how much someone distracts him, he stays completely focused. He can carry on a full conversation with someone and still not mess up one but. Anyway, he was asking me all about school. He wanted to know everything. When I brought up Andrew he looked at me and smiled.

   "Ah, good kid. I run track with him." He says.

  "You know him!?"

   "Duh. He's popular. And he's on my team."

    "And ours!" Chris and Nate yell from the back seat. I honestly forget they were back there.

    "Okay, if we are going to become super close with you, like your second brothers, we might as week start treating you like our sister. No dating until your 40." Nate firmly replies.

    "Okay. I should probably treat you like brothers then... 40!?! Are you crazy!" I yell laughing and smirking at the same time.

    "Yup! So go ahead and become a nun now." Tyler adds this time.

   At this point I'm cracking up. Tyler always knows what to say to make me laugh. I love him so much.

    Once we get home i have to start homework. Not fun. When I get to my room I turn on my music and set my phone down. About five minutes later my phone vibrates. It's Andrew.

    "Eyy, art bud." I laugh to myself as I read this. I don't know why, it's  funny though.

    "What do you want Andrew.?"

    "Nothing. Just starting a convo with a gorgeous girl."

    "Don't even. Ik you're a ladies man."

     "What!? I'm just being nice."

    "Mhm, suurrreeee."

     "Um yah. Why would I want to flirt with you?"

     "You just called me gorgeous..."

     "Wrong number."

      "Who was it going to? One of your exes? Your mom? Grandma?"

      "No. My cat. Now leave me alone"

      "You bothered me."

      "Nuh uh"

      " uh huh"

      "Nuh uh."

      "Uh huh"

~five minutes later~

      "Nuh uh"

     "Uh huh"

       "Fine I give up."

       "Ah ha! Yes I win. #loser."

     After a while he doesn't respond so I decide to text him again.

     "Ik you're trying to flirt with me. It's not going to work."

     He still doesn't respond so I finish up my homework and decide to fall asleep. 

    My phone sings me awake with my song. "Say something" by great big world. I could listen to it on repeat all day, which I have done before. When I look at my phone I see a text from Andrew. Weird thing is that is was sent at 2:38 in the morning. The text reads the following.

     " ik you are probs. asleep right now, but idc. I'm wide awake, and when I am I think a lot. I've been thinking about you. I know it's only been one day but you are truly beautiful. I know my reputation is known as a player, and I hate it. I just never expected someone like you to come along and have such an impact on my life. We haven't talked but a few sentences, but I already feel like I have known you for my whole life. Please just give me the chance to make you like me. See you soon. XO"
