Present Day

"Come on Edward I'm not gonna-" I went to say but knew I was gonna get anywhere with it.

"Please Lydia, she'll be here today. I just want her to be pushed in the right direction.

"Oh right because you'll go all rawr I'm gonna eat your face." I said and he just glared.

"What's the right direction anyway?" I asked as we pulled into the parking lot of the school.

"Away from me." He said gripping the steering wheel slightly.

"Fine Ed, But you owe me one." I said getting out of the car.

As my dark brown boots hit the ground I fiercely walked into the school with my eyes scanning for the new girl.

Seeing the brunette walking not far ahead of me I rushed over.

"Hey new girl!" I called out. She slowly turned and I fake smiled as I rushed towards her.

"I'm Lydia. Welcome to Forks." I said as we began walking down the hall.

"Thanks." She said somehow making one word awkward.

"I'm Bella." She mustered out and I nodded.

"Isabella? Isabella Swan?" Eric said rushing over with his books in his hand.

"Woah hey Lydia." He said flirtatiously. I just laughed and waved as I began backing away.

"I'll see you around Bella." I said before turning around and walking towards Edward who was standing at his locker. Everyone just assumed we were together because I hung around with him and his siblings.

"So she seems a little.." I trailed off and he just rolled his eyes.

"Please be nice." Edward said knowing where my thoughts were at.

"Come on Ed lighten up, don't want to her frown lines do you?" I sarcastically asked and he just scoffed as he shut his locker.

"You should get to gym class." He said and I raised a brow.

"Why? Oh please don't tell me-" I went to say but stopped myself seeing his pleading look.

"Okay, I'm going." I said adjusting my bag strap that rested on my shoulder before walking away towards the gym.

"Twelve serving fifteen." I called out as I served the ball over the net.

As the ball was hit back and forth it soon case straight for Bella.

"You Bella." I called out. Putting her hands in the incorrect position Bella hit the ball and it went straight towards guys who were playing basketball.

"Oh shit." I mumbled before jogging over to where the ball hit Mike Newton and Bella followed behind.

"I told you not to let me play." I heard Bella say from behind me.

"Ah Lydia hey, um you never got back to me about uh the movies." Mike stuttered out as Tyler yelled at him from behind for the ball.

"Have you met Bella?" I said pulling her right beside me.

"Yeah uh Isabella, um Bella?" He nervously stuttered out.

"Just Bella." She said and he nodded.

"Yeah! Hey, I'm Mike. Newton" He said shaking her hand for way to long of a time.

"Oh, nice to meet you." Bella said awkwardly.

"She's got a great spike, huh?" Jessica said running over and I held back an eye roll.

"Oh hey Lydia. You coming to lunch today?" She asked judgmentally.

"See now that she's all miss popular she forgot about us little people, but uh Bella your welcome to join us. Right Lydia." She said and I had to bite my lip.

"Right. We'll be there." I said taking the volleyball from her hands and giving it back to the girls trying to have a game.

Leaving the gym after telling the teacher I had to use the bathroom I walked into the stairwell to wait for Edward.

"Is everything okay?" He asked walking into the stairwell.

"Because of you and your weird obsession with her I have to have lunch with Jessica." I wined and Edward just rolled his eyes.

"Lydia." He said but I ignored him.

"Can't you just find some other way-" I went to say but stopped as the door opened. Jasper walked in.

"Why are you so mad?" He asked as I felt calmness wash over me.

"Just forget about it. Thank you Jasper." I said being suddenly calm, as I passed him I lightly nodded before going back to class.

"And this..well it's the cafeteria. Why don't you go grab a seat with Jess, I'll be right back." I said and walked out of the back door of the cafeteria.

Walking our I saw the Cullen's just standing around.

"You can't expect me to go to that table. It'll be awkward..Jess drooling over Mike, him asking if I'd ever get back together with him, it's like torcher." I said and Ed looked slightly amused.

"You want me to rough him up for you Lyds?" Emmett asked and I chuckled.

"No I want Ed to realize me being her friend isn't gonna help." I said and he sighed.

"If you just do this for me..without complaining.." He trailed off with a sigh.

"I guess I won't say anything when you go into the Rez." He said and I smirked.

"And you'll drive me." I said and he glared.

"Don't push it." He said and they all chuckled as we got up to walk in.

Walking inside the cafeteria Rosalie led fiercely while Emmett just admired her like she was the air that he breathed.

Following behind was Alice and Jasper, him being pained by all the human blood he had to fight off and he just being her chipper self. He spun her as they walked.

Edward and I followed behind everyone, he sent me a look and I sighed before parting ways. Sitting next to Bella, I heard Jess talking.

"He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him." Jess said and on cue I rolled my eyes. Like his ego needed anymore boosting.

"Not even Lydia?" Bella asked and I laughed a little too loud.

"Broody and annoying isn't really my type." I said knowing everyone beside's Ed at the table was silently chuckling.

"What is your type?" Mike asked in a small voice as he sat next to me.

"Uh..I'm gonna go now. Nice seeing you." I said fake smiling Jess's glare away as I got up and walked towards the Cullen's.

"That was weird why did I ever date him?" I asked sitting down as Alice wrapped an arm around me in a side hug.

"You could do so much better Lyds." Rose said and I smiled slightly as the guys didn't know how to respond as they all knew what Rose said was true seeing as right this second he was flirting with Jessica.
