"It feels like it's been ages since we've been here." Sam said sitting on the opposite side of the counter from me, just like the day we first met.

"I know and it's really sad to think it's never gonna be like this after today. I won't be serving you hot chocolate, you won't be keeping me company on my long, boring shifts." I said refusing to let myself tear up. First it's quitting my high school job, then graduation, followed by college.

"Do you wanna keep me company at the garage? I don't have any hot chocolate but we've got dirty rags." Sam said with a light chuckle.

"Sammy I'm going to college." I said sadly, the thought of leaving and being six hours away.

"I know and it sucks. You know I didn't go to school and I think I did just fine and you could just live with Emily and I." Sam said the unrealistic hope going through his mind.

"You know I can't do that." I said and he frowned.

"I know. I'm gonna have to consider expanding patrol all the way to Pullman." He said protectively and I cracked a small smile.

"I don't know what I'm gonna do without you." I said light tears welling up in my eyes.

"Don't cry, you could always come home on breaks." Sam said as I walked around the counter and he stood up embracing me into a hug.

The bell above the door went completely ignored until I heard the voices of two very familiar boys.

"You know I hate to see you cry." Jared said holding his arms open for me to hug him too.

"I'm next." Paul said and I shifted to his embrace.

"I love you guys so much." I said with a loving look in my eyes. The three boys in cue said 'we love you too'

"I know you don't leave until September but If you need anything call, we'll be there in a blink of an eye." Sam said and I smiled.

"And you better believe the three of us are driving you up there and making sure all the guys know to keep their hands off." Jared said and I rolled my eyes giving him a slight nudge.

"Awe my big bad Wolfy protectors." I said mockingly causing Jared to scoff.

"Oh you wanna see big and bad? One look at us and all those boys will be running." He said and I chuckled.

"Oh stop it, you know you three will always be my number one boys." I said and Jared cooed.

"Awe, I think it's time for another hug." Jared said pulling us all in for one final hug in the coffee shop.

"Hey Lydia did you get your room assignment yet?" Angela asked as we were seated on Bella's bed, Bella was standing by the window probably looking over to the woods to where the wolves watched the house.

"They sent those?" I asked and she nodded as I pulled out my phone to check my email.

"Is this your.." I trailed off showing her the dorm and she jumped up in excitement.

"We're roommates! Eric's in the closest, of course but we're the furthest. Has Alaska assigned you guys dorms yet?" Angela asked directing it over to Bella who just gave me a saddened look.

"Not yet." She replied.

"Where is Edward tonight anyway?" Angela asked and I took the lead on this with a laugh.

"He's really busy you know brooding and self loathing-" I went to say but Bella stopped me.

"Hey! Don't hate on my man." She said and I chuckled as my phone rang.

"Hey Josh what's up?" I asked picking up his call.

"Can you come home?" He asked oddly.

"Is everything okay?" I asked causing Bella and Angela to give me nervous looks.

"Just get here please." He said before hanging up the phone.

I left Bella's as quickly as humanly possible and rushed home to find Josh standing on my porch.

"What's wrong you sounded upset on the phone-what are you crying?" I said as I walked onto my porch and opened the door letting us inside.

"I'm leaving..tonight for a small town in Virginia. I'm going to look into where Luke was born." Josh said and I jumped back in surprise.

"What-why now? Wait until after graduation and I'll go with you." I said tears unknowingly welling in my eyes.

"You can't, and that's why I called you. We have to break up." He said and the tears began streaming down my face.

"What? No we don't. Josh, why are you doing this?" I cried out obviously confused and hurt.

"Because you need to figure out your situation with Jacob as much as it kills me and believe me Lydia it does because I'm so freaking in love with you." Josh said and I shook my head.

"But I don't need to figure anything out, I love you Josh that's all I need to know." I cried out but he already had his mind made up.

"If things were different, maybe you'd come with me but I can't ask you to do that because I know you won't and that's okay."  He said soundly like he was trying to convince himself.

"Josh." I said in a begging tone.

"None of this means I don't love you okay, I love you enough to know you have things to figure out with Jacob, and I can't stand in the way of that." He said as tears flooded both our faces.

"Please don't go Josh." I said giving one last beg.

"Lydia I-" Josh stooped me causing me to realize that he was really leaving, we were really breaking up.

"I-I do love you and I get why you're leaving but I need you to make me a promise-" I managed to choke out.

"Lydia please-" He pleaded, he didn't want this to hurt anymore than it already did.

"Promise me we'll find our way back to each other, promise me this isn't the end." I said and he just gave a frown as he cupped my cheeks wiping my tears with his thumbs.

"I promise." He breathed out places one final kiss to my lips.

"Goodbye Josh." I said quietly as he pulled his hands away.

"Bye." He said turning for the door and ultimately leaving town.
