I woke up feeling an empty spot beside me. To my surprised, I was lying alone on the small twin sized bed in Jacob's childhood room. I sat up and my eyes wandered around the room and I saw Jacob leaning against the wall as he looked out the window. I smiled as I got out of the bed and looked to see where his thoughts were at. 

"That's where I imprinted. When Bella slapped you and Paul was about to shift. I was such an idiot back then." He said with a laugh as he pulled me back into his chest, we both stared out the window. 

"I was so clueless," I said and he laughed. 

"You know Paul had feelings for you, back then," Jake said and I sighed. "Like I said, totally clueless. My mind was too busy worrying for Edward to even begin to think of anything like that." I explained and he sighed. 

"Did you call your mom yet?" He asked and I lifted my head up to look at him. "She didn't answer, she never usually does. I asked Josh to get the message to her." I said and he frowned. 

"I don't like her." He said and I chuckled, leaving his embrace to pick up my phone. "Join the club," I said and he frowned walking over to sit beside me on the bed. 

I checked my phone as he talked, "Why does she like Edward so much? It's not like he hasn't made mistakes when it came to you. Plus, like you said he drives a Volvo-" Jacob ranted pulling my thoughts away from a text message I had from Bella. 

I laughed and grabbed his hand. "It was in Ed's hands and if he wanted to at any moment he could hand me over to the Volturi. Plus, she's always had a thing for the bad boy." I said and he cringed. 

"I could be a bad boy." He said and I laughed as I climbed into his lap. "I'm sure you can." I said leaning in to kiss him.

"Aunt Lydia!" Ness ran to me with open arms as I bent down to hug her. "There's my gorgeous girl!" I said taking her hand and spinning her around. 

"Uncle Jake's here too," Jake said from beside me with a confused face. Kids usually loved him. "Hi." She said to him with a cute smile. 

"Aunt Lydia, do you wanna come to see what dad taught me on the piano?" She asked and I smiled. 

"Race you there," I said and she took off running into the house. "What the heck! I was supposed to be her favorite." He said and I smirked. 

"But Auntie always brings her favorite girl some candy," I said as I followed after her leaving a smiling Jake to follow behind. 

Inside the house, Jacob saw Ness sitting beside Edward at the piano while his girlfriend leaned beside it. 

"Where's Bella?" I asked and watched as Edward tried to pick my mind and failed before replying. 

"Her and the family went out hunting. We feel it's safer to not leave Renesemae alone." He said and I smiled at a confused Ness. 

"They've been super weird since the blonde girl." She said and I chuckled. Edward couldn't help but smile at her boldness, it reminded him of Lydia. 

"I really hate that blonde bitch." I said and Edward sighed at the chuckling coming from his daughter. 

"Sorry, but I told you I always thought she was a-" I went to say but Jacob quickly cut off his girlfriend before she taught their niece a new curse word. 

"Seth's working at Liv's cafe now. Maybe Ness would like to go visit?" Jake said and the young girl blushed. 

"Can we get hot chocolate?" She asked and Jake smiled. "Race you to the car." He said and the girl kissed her father's cheek before running out of the house. 

"Uncle Jake: One," He said and I laughed as he followed after her. "You sure you can watch her for the day?" He asked and I nodded. 

"Yeah the shop's fully staffed and Paul and his dad are working on the house. We have the day off." I said and he nodded. 

"Why did you need Bella?" He asked and I smirked. "Just looking for some girl talk," I said and he eyed me suspiciously. 

"Before you go, I spoke with Marie." He said referring to my mother by her first name. "She didn't return my call," I said and he frowned. 

"She doesn't support your relationship with the pack." He said and I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, she's making a few stops on the way home. I think she's really gonna be able to help us." He said and I scoffed. 

"If she's good at one thing it's building an army. Are we ready for a war?" I asked him, my mind screaming no.

"I wish I could promise you that it wouldn't be like last time. Lydia, this is gonna be a war and there will be casualties. Jacob does not have to be one of them, not again." He said and I couldn't help the tears welded in my eyes just waiting to spill. 

"We fought for her once, we'll do it again."

"I know Lyds, but you've been fighting for me since the moment I picked you up from the hospital. I can't ask you to throw away your future." He said and I forced a smirk. 

"I think you're underestimating my man's fighting abilities."
