"Hey Sammy. Thanks for having us." I said as the familiar man opened the door inviting Josh and I inside.

"Thank you for coming!" Emily politely said as she came into the dinning room and joined Sam's side. Sam held out his hand to Josh who in return shook his hand, I guess that was a good sign.

"So this is the Josh you've-" Jared said already starting with me.

"Shut it pup." I said and he squinted his eyes.

"No go on." Josh said with a chuckle causing the pup to smirk. My smirk never faltered as the tan, brunette girl know as Kim walked in.

She casually placed an arm on his shoulder causing him to jump slightly.

"Josh, this is Jared and Kim." I said with a smirk consuming my face as I introduced them, Jared having a slumped look.

"Nice to meet you I'm Josh the boyfriend." He said shaking both their hands.

"Kim, the imprint." She said and everyone in the room went silent.

"I'm sorry the what?" Josh asked having no understanding on what an imprint was.

"It's a wolf thing." I said tugging his arm past him and towards Paul and Seth.

"This is Paul, he's my best friend." I said and he playfully nudged me with a smile.

"Hey man, I'm Seth. The newest, bestest, brightest-" He went to continue but Paul stopped him with a scoff.

"Don't get ahead of yourself kid." Paul said but his confidence didn't falter.

"He's not wrong." I said and Paul just raised a brow as Seth and Josh laughed.

"Oh really." Jared said hearing the previous conversation.

"Don't get your panties in a twist you all know Sammy will always be my favorite pup." I said and Sam just rolled his eyes from the kitchen knowing no matter how many times he'd correct me I'd never stop calling him Sammy.

"Oh really-" Jared went today but I just cut him off leaving Josh laughing at the sibling like interaction, he hadn't seen her this comfortable with someone since Luke.

"I wonder how Jacob would feel about that." Jared slipped up and said and just like that the room went silent. Sam just walked over and out his shoulder and guided him into the living room so he couldn't mess up even more.

"Damn I guess the wolf is out of the bag." Embry said causing my eyes to widen.

"Um, so Emily do you need help with dinner?" I asked breaking the awkwardness in the room.

"Yeah you could help me serve, everyone can just grab a seat." Emily said and everyone went into the dining room while we walked into the kitchen.

As soon as we were in the kitchen alone I sighed frustratedly as I ran my hands through my hair.

"I'm guessing you didn't tell him about Jake." Emily said and I just repeated my previous actions.

"I didn't think I needed to, Jacob and I aren't even friends right now, he's not apart of my life." I said and Emily frowned.

"I'm sorry Lydia I know this isn'r easy." Emily said and I remained quiet.

Sam walked into the kitchen with Jared holding his head down low. Sam just stopped infant of me and cleared his throat causing Jared to look up.

"Sorry for my big mouth and I love you." Jared said and a small smile appeared on my face.

"I love you guys." I said hugging Jared and then hugging Sam.

"Are you gonna tell him about Jacob?" Sam said holding me in a side hug.

"I'm gonna have to, I should've told him before it wasn't fair of me." I said and Sam just gave on last squeeze before we began the dinner.

"Dinner was interesting" Josh said breaking the silence of the car ride home. We haven't spoken since Jared slipped up in mentioning Jacob.

"Yeah, everyone was thrilled to finally meet you." I said squeezing the door handle, this was stressing me out.

"Yeah." Josh said and I snapped.

"Just ask!" I said and he jumped nervously.

"Uh fine. What about Jacob?" He said finally spitting out the subject he's been contemplating in his mind all night.

"You know how Kim introduced herself as Jared's imprint." I trailed off and he nodded.

"Well it's kinda funny actually.." I trailed off again but Josh looked anything but amused.

"Well it's a wolf thing..and uh well it seems to happen in the most inconvenient ways.." I trailed off and the look on his face showed gears turning in his head.

"So Sam and Emily?" He asked and I just nodded slightly.

"Jared and Kim..." He trailed off and then suddenly his eyes widened.

"Jacob Black has some weird wolfy claim on my girlfriend!" Josh exclaimed.

"Well no, I'm pretty sure we're on the same page of just ignoring each other for the rest of our lives." I said but he obviously wasn't so easily convinced.

"Let me see your phone." He said as he pulled off to the side of the road.

"What. Josh no." I said but he was quicker than me in grabbing my phone from the console.

He quickly opened it and before even opening the phone app I saw the missed notifications.

"He doesn't seem so open to not seeing you." Josh said showing me the screen of the many missed phone calls from Jacob.

"It doesn't matter what he wants Josh, he's not my boyfriend you are." I said but he just dropped the phone into my lap and began driving again.

"It matters." Josh said and then went silent.

"Turn here, I'm staying at the Cullen's tonight." I said and he remained silent but still turned at the corner.

"I'm sure Jacob wouldn't like that." Josh mumbled causing me to flick the side of his head, which made him slam on his breaks.

"Lydia what the hell." Josh said holding the side of his head while the car that was once behind us sped past beeping the horn.

"Just get over it Josh! I choose you not Jacob. So stop please." I said and he just frowned as he kept driving.

"You're right, I'm sorry." He said still rubbing the side of his head as he drove on.

Josh soon arrived at the Cullen residence and I was quick to get out of the car without leaving him with any final words. 

When I walked up the steps I found Emmett and Rose standing in front of the clear slide in door in each others embrace, it was like they were waiting for me. 

They were alway there for me.
