chapter 28: My family is my family

*(Y/N)'s P.O.V*

Shiki left late that day we stayed up talking for hours, i looked outside to see the sun setting once again but today we had school so i had to prepare. After taking a bath and changing into a fresh uniform i walked downstairs to meet with the rest of the night class Aido looking at me longingly but i brushed it off, we settled down in class when the door burst open all of us heard his raging footsteps before he came in and we anticipated that whoever it was would throw the doors open like that so none of us jumped. Slamming the door behind him he walked to his desk took off his large hat to reveal a rather handsome man with an eyepatch, he carelessy placed his breifcase on the table and stared at us menacingly "first off..." he said with a deep voice "...hello vampires" he finished. Our eyes gleamed red as we felt rather offended by his label.

After everyone introduced ourselves it was my turn, his eyes turned to me and i could tell that was my que to stand up and announce who i was "(Y/N) (L/N)-" from the looks i was receaving around the classroom from the other night class students i sighed "or Hio if you will" with that i sat down as his eyes widened "a Hio eh?" he asked, i nodded "you must be the lost one, the Guardian of all correct?" he asked, i gulped and nodded at the title "you're supposed to protect both humans and vampires right? Must be tough" he said in a mocking tone. I narrowed my eyes "mister..." i trailed off waiting for him to introduce himself "Yagari...Toga Yagari" he replied "well...mister Yagari i may not be proud of what my sister did to my own adopted family and to Zero's family in fact what my whole family has done to innocent people but they are still my family so i would think it wise to not unsult them in front of me, if you please?" i asked. He smirked and chuckled "so you know Zero?" he asked "i was techinacally raised with him, he's like a bro-" i cut myself off and looked down to my lap where my hands fiddled with each other.

Toga cocked a brow "not like a brother? Don't tell me you fell for him, you're sister did kill everyone he loves well....apart from his brotherof course but he must hate you" he scoffed, i furrowed my brows in anger "he doesn't hate me, he acted like he did when he found out but he never hated me he just couldn't understand, and how do you know so much anyway?" i asked "i'm Zero's old master, i taught him everything he knows" he explained "everything he knows about what?" i asked further "about hunting vampires" he finished. Gasps filled the room "ah~ I've heard of you Mister Yagari one of the best besides the legend, the headmaster himself" Kaname spoke up 'what?! the headmaster was a vampire hunter?' i thought to myself 'well...he had to have found out about vampires somehow' i concluded "alright, enough chit chat...let the classes begin" Mr. Yagari said walking towards the board and righting a bunch of english phrases down...

School was over and everyone had already left apart from me and Mr. Yagari, i put away my books and was about to walk out the door when stopped me "wait!" he said before my fingers could even graze the doorknob of the closed door "what is it?" i asked turning around "how much do you know?" he asked "about what?" i replied turning around to see him closer then expected, my eyes widened and i took a step back "about Zero" he explained "everything i guess...i know he gets out of control sometimes and he needs Shizuka's blood to stop him from turning into a level E but she's dead" i admitted "not exactly" he said grabbing my wrist and pulling down the sleeve of my jacket and shirt to reveal my fair skin, he slapped it gently "my blood?" i asked "you're the only living relative so yes...you. You're the only one close enough to her in the family that's still alive which means that you're blood may suffice, did she let you drink her blood when she was dying?" he asked, i nodded "then with luck her blood is still running through your veins the only problem is..." he trailed off "what?" i asked "it woul take just a little of Shizuka's blood to heal Zero but because you're still blood related to her you could save him using the same basic blood you two share but...because you're still different from her the blood you share with her is still there but it's only a small amount and for it to work...Zero would have to suck you dry or at least close to it" he informed.

I gulped at the thought "of course it's your's and his decision whether you want to risk your life to save him or not, choose wisely" and with that he pushed passed me and opened the door leaving me standing there still shocked. I shook my head and walked out the doot after him.

After i got back to the dorm rooms everyone looked at me concerned (apart from Ruka and her boyfriend Akatsuki...they weren't actually together but their longing for each other was so painfully obvious i was so close to just pushing their heads together so they kissed) at how pale i had become "guys i'm fine" i sighed "you look pale, what did Mr. Yagari do?" Kaname asked "nothing we just talked"  i said truthfully "about?" Aido asked "n-nothing of improtance" i lied "you'r tone of voice says different" Kaname replied "i'm fine guys just...fine..." i trailed off as the thought of having every drop of my blood gone from someone i care deepy for. My eyes felt heavy and my knees buckled, i feel sideways my vision blured and the last thing i saw was multiple shoes running for me then...my world faded to black.
