"you didn't have a nightmare? at all?"

"nope. i didn't dream whatsoever." i happily proclaimed to the nurse after an amazing night of sleep. she looked shocked, while i was ecstatic.

"that's so weird. well, we'll have to see if the dreams continue or not. i'll talk to your doctor today while you're at school." she smiled at me, holding that stupid machine in her hands. i nodded as i slipped on my sweatshirt and waited for mom to get here.

she told me to have a good day at school before exiting my room.

and for the first time in a long time, i actually thought i might have a good day.

it had been so long since i first started staying in this hospital. i heard that the doctors were in contact with other doctors across the country because they just could not figure out what was wrong with me. of course, it takes a while to communicate with the other extremely busy doctors, so i really thought i'd be in here for forever. but last night gave me a bit of hope.

mom was so happy to hear that i had a nightmare-less sleep last night, and i was so excited to tell all the guys about it. especially jaemin, considering he worried so much about me.

and when lunch finally rolled around, i approached the table with a huge smile on my face.

"what are you so happy about?" chenle asked, giggling. i could see the shock on all their faces, considering the fact that just yesterday i was still rather sulky because of the jeno incident.

of course i still wasn't really over him, but i knew it was going to take a while, and i was starting to finally accept that.

"i didn't have a nightmare last night." i answered simply as i sat down in my usual spot between jaemin and renjun.

as the guys erupted into multiple different congratulatory phrases, i couldn't help but notice how jaemin and haechan immediately looked at each other, their eyes wide.

weird.

"how much longer are you gonna be staying in that stupid sleep center place?" renjun asked as he took a large bite out of his sandwich.

i shrugged. "until they figure out what's wrong with me, i guess."

"wait, so," jaemin suddenly spoke up, still looking a bit shocked. "you really didn't have a nightmare last night?"

"no! it's so weird. i hope they've stopped completely." i smiled a little at the thought. it'd be so nice to not have to worry about sleep anymore.

"we do too." mark said with a grin, and i smiled back at him.

jaemin looked at haechan again, while haechan shrugged. they both looked like they'd seen a ghost. i furrowed my eyebrows. "what's wrong?"

"oh, nothing." jaemin answered, averting his attention back to his food. i wasn't so sure about that, though.
