Chapter Twenty-Seven: Pajama Party
Cade
***I called the pizza place that delivered to my house once we got into the car as I knew they could take a good while to cook the pizza and deliver it. So by the time we drove home, got comfortable, and settled in the pizza should be arriving.
We drove on and held a comfortable conversation as she went on and on about how amazing she thought Southtown was.
When we pulled up to the house she let herself out of the car and I moved to unlock the front door for us.
I pushed the door open for us and put my hand on her lower back as I led her inside. She stopped once in though only to step out of her heels.
"I'm going to have a quick shower." She announced as she bent down to collect her heels.
I nodded my head in acknowledgement and watched her make her way upstairs before I grabbed my laptop and went upstairs myself.
I put my laptop on my bed and looked around my bedroom. It wasn't dirty, could use with a dusting I suppose, but I didn't have the time and I also didn't want to kickup the dust into the air. I made a mental note to have someone come in and clean for me while Blithe entertained Daisy this week.
I moved to my dresser, "Pajamas."
I do not own pajamas.
Don't sleep in them so no need to keep any. To be honest the closet thing I had to "sleepware" were basketball shorts and plain white undershirts.
I sighed and pulled the articles on making sure to put my clothes in the hamper out of sight.
Of course as soon as I'd get dressed down the doorbell would ring, I grabbed my wallet and headed downstairs.
I opened the front door and didn't find the pizza delivery person but rather my anxious cousin.
"Blithe."
She looked at me and pulled her eyebrows together, "Laundry Day?"
"What do you want Blithe?" I sighed.
"Just dropping by to say hello to Daisy and also to say thatI unfortunately will not be able to make breakfast tomorrow, I have an appointment, but maybe we can all have an early lunch tomorrow, around 11?"
I shook my head, "I have to work all day tomorrow, I've got a big meeting...but I'm sure Daisy wouldn't mind you dropping in and taking her out, you still got a key?"
She nodded.
I had given my cousin a key because she's the one who usually brings in my mail while I'm away on business.
"Hey can you get someone to come and clean my place too while you two are out."
"Noted, well then..." She sighed, "See you around, and tell Daisy I'll be here at 11 tomorrow...better yet ask her if she can be ready by 10:30 just in case the appointment ends sooner."
I nodded and waved her out as the pizza guy was just getting here, I watched as my cousin left and then paid for the food before closing the door and making my way to the kitchen.
I put the box down on the counter and then grabbed some sodas out of the refridgerator and put them in my pockets, I also grabbed some water bottles and then moved to grab some plates to eat off of.
I placed the plates on top of the box and held onto the two bottles of water by their necks and finally made my way back up to my bedroom.
I put the food and drinks down on a nightstand and went to grab one of my dark towels. I laid out my towel along the foot of the bed and placed the pizza box on top of the towel (so the grease wouldn't mess up my comforter).
