Chapter Fifty Six: Goodbye
Daisy
***

When I finally drove off from my parents place I knew I needed to stop in town before I took off.

I grew a little sad as I drove around town, but there was absolutely one place I had to go before officially leaving Sunderland.

I pulled up to the orphanage and my heart grew heavy.

I got out of the car and went in as if it was any old day. The staff greeted me warmly per the usual and as it seemed they had just had a staff meeting of sorts it worked in my favor to having them all there to speak to at once.

"As you all know over the years I've gotten quite attached to this place and the children who come and go." I said happily as I recalled various kids. "I know you've all probably notice my absence, not just from the orphanage but also from the pack...some of you may remember Cade Irons, at the time when he visited the orphanage alongside me we were friends and now not only are we engaged but he has asked me to become his Luna."

Sounds of excitement and congratulations filled the room.

"Thank you." I said feeling the slight heat on my cheeks as I hadn't said to get a form of congratulations but was grateful none the less. "Yes, again thank you all for your warm wishes but my reason for being here is that it is with a heavy heart that I actually have come to say goodbye..."

I took a minute as I had actually gotten a little choked up.

"I love this orphanage and all of you for not only taking your time out to care for the. children, but for genuinely loving each and every one of them." I sounded, "it is not lost on me the time you've given, the love you each spread and the lack of thanks you all get in return...but know that as I leave to begin a new life in IronSmith a piece of my heart remains here with you all in this orphanage."

"And that's why as a new ally to Sunderland, I'm sure my Mate would agree that our time and funds can be spent here for the children...Alpha Cade has told me that there is an orphanage in IronSmith as well and I'd like to take on a role there but I may need some guidance so don't be surprised if you hear from me every so often."

They chuckled and soon we all moved around and I got to say more personal goodbyes.

Unfortunately most of the children were at school and I'd be gone long before they got off for the day, but I got to tell a few of the younger children bye in a form of "see you later" as I didn't want to upset them with a more permanent sound goodbye.

The staff assured me they'd fill in the older children of my departure and Ibegrudgingly left shortly after.

I got into the car feeling sad.

'They're in good hands.' My wolf reminded me.

I nodded to her words.

'We'll be back for holidays.'

I sighed, "Thanksgiving and Christmas hardly seems like enough." I said before I started my car and pulled out of the parking area.

I looked at my gas and knew I needed to fill up the gas tank before I made the three hour drive back to IronSmith.

Since I was already in town I stopped at a gas station, filled up the tank, grabbed some chips and a soda alongside some gum, paid and finally took off back to Cade.

But as I drove out of town I didn't get too far as a black car pulled out in front of me and sped up ahead before stopping completely in the middle of the street.

"What the hell?" I asked, my wolf on edge and ready to attack.

I watched as Ieston got out of the car and I was worried.
