Fred and George were beyond themselves with glee at winning such a huge amount. They had planned to invest it all on their merchandise for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. And well Dad did forbid them on telling Mum that they had been gambling at the match.
The fun thing about Dad is that he is always so lenient while Mum is the total opposite when it comes to such matters.
We were all too excited to go to bed so Dad allowed us to stay awake for one more cup of hot cocoa. Charlie and Dad were having a rather thorough discussion while I was listening to the twins making plans for their future joke shop.
As promised, after we had finished our cocoa, we were all sent off to bed. I went off with Hermione and Ginny while the rest of the Weasleys and Harry were to remain in the main area of the tent.
Since we were all quite tired from the match it didn't take us long to fall asleep. And that's quite rare since I'm the one who usually has a lot of trouble going to sleep.
I don't think much long had passed when Perce came and woke us all up in a hurry.
"What's wrong, Weatherby, why are you here?" I sat up rubbing my eyes, I don't fall asleep so easily often so no wonder I was a bit irritated at him spoiling it for me.
Ever since Mister Crouch had constantly called him Weatherby when he had come to visit us in the tent, me, Fred and George were doing the same.
"There's no time for your stupid jokes. Hurry up all of you, it's an emergency."
Emergency?
The three of us grabbed our jackets, pocketed our wands and headed out. The rest of our family was out there too and Dad looked really anxious. The singing and noises of celebration had been replaced by agonized screams and people hasting by.
People were fleeing away into the woods and from distance came loud jeers and jets of green lights like curses flying about. A crowd of masked wizards were marching slowly across the field towards our tents. They were hooded and closely resembled those ghastly dementors.
"We've got to help the Ministry," Dad shouted, "you lot... Get to the woods and stick together. Percy, Bill, Charlie come with me."
Fred grabbed Ginny's hand and all of us dashed towards the woods as fast as we could. Dad and the others sprinted towards the masked crowd as more Ministry officials joined them.
Amid all the hustle bustle, my foot got stuck in a tree root or something and I fell off. Now of all times. When I managed to get myself freed from the nasty grip, I realized that they had all vanished. I had no idea where they had suddenly gone to.
People were storming from every direction and I had to keep moving in order to avoid getting stomped under their feet.
What a lovely time to get lost indeed...
I had no idea in which direction I was headed, all I could see were trees, people and lots of smoke around me.
"Fred? George?" I called out when I realized that somehow the noises had been muffled as if I had come far away from the rest of the people.
The darkness and sudden silence was starting to freak me out. Suddenly something gleamed above me and I looked up to see that an odd mark had formed on the sky. It was a green skull with a serpent coming out of its mouth.
I had absolutely no idea what it was but still it had a chilling vibe to it such that it sent shivers down my spine.
I had to find the others. I had to keep moving.
I tried to listen for any sort of voices so that I could make my way over to them but there was only a distant sound that I could hear, nothing more. Nevertheless, I sprinted in the direction from where I thought I had heard some noises.
