Kaito grew up in the Southern Water Tribe and is one of the last waterbenders of the tribe. His mother told him to keep his bending a secret after the Fire Nation came and killed Katara and Sokka's mother, Kya, after she claimed to be the last waterbender in the tribe. So no one else knew about his ability.
Years later while Katara and Sokka were out fishing they came across an iceberg where they found a boy trapped inside. They soon discovered that the boy, Aang, was the last airbender as well as the Avatar. So Katara and Sokka went with Aang on his sky bison to get Aang to master all four elements.
Not long after they left, Kaito's mother, Yuzuki, got sick and died. And with his father gone to fight in the war and his friends gone he felt like there was nothing left for him in the Southern Water Tribe. So he left his home and started heading towards the Earth Kingdom. Eventually he made his way to Ba Sing Se.
A/N: So I decided to write a Zuko x Male OC fanfiction because I noticed that there aren't really many of them so I decided to make one myself.
So this will follow the plot of the Avatar The Last Airbender series. So if you haven't watched that, I recommend you do that first otherwise you might be confused.
