“So what do we do now?” Toby asked.

“We have to find Team Galactic. We know they went east, so that’s where we will go.” I replied.

“There’s one problem with that, though.” Toby said. “Team Galactic have a helicopter, and we don’t even have a flying-type Pokémon!”

“Don’t worry about that.” Lydia smiled. “Here, take these.”

She handed us three Poké Balls. We stared at them for moment, before looking back at here. She grinned. “They contain Articuno, Togekiss, and Braviary. You can use them to fly to where Team Galactic are.”

Steven took a step forward so that he was facing me. “Sam, I also have a score to settle with Team Galactic. I hate to say it, but let me join you in finding them.”

I smiled, and nodded. “Will you be joining us, Lydia?”

Lydia shook her head. “No. I have to help sort out Pewter City.” She turned to face her destroyed Gym. “League matches will have to be suspended until I get that fixed. That’ll annoy some people, I’m sure.”

“We’ll find Team Galactic and take them down for you.” I told her. “Those criminals won’t get away from what they’ve done here.”

Lydia smiled, and looked down at the ground. I patted her on the shoulder, before turning to face Steven and Toby. “Right, let’s do this. Are you guys ready?”

They both nodded. We opened up the three Poké Balls and climbed onto the flying Pokémon.

Meanwhile…

“Master, the Boy is dead. We blew up Pewter City with him inside it.” Commander Saturn smiled as he sat back in the co-pilot seat of the helicopter.

“No, the Boy is alive. And following you.” A voice crackled down the phone.

“What?! Impossible! There’s no way they could have taken down all four bombs!”

“You have failed me twice now, Saturn. Do not fail me a 3rd time.”

The phone line went dead. Saturn grunted, and turned to face Commander Jupiter in the pilot-seat.

“Sam is alive. Slow the helicopter down so that he catches up to us, and then land it at the base. We’ll take him down there.”

Commander Jupiter smiled, and slowed the helicopter down.

So how are we going to find them, exactly?” Toby asked as the Togekiss he was flying on ducked under a cloud.

“Considering that they’d crash into Mt.Moon if they went north from Pewter City, I find it likely that Team Galactic will still be going east.” Steven replied.

“Wait, I see them!” I shouted.

“Those naïve fools.” Saturn laughed. “Land the helicopter on the base.”

The helicopter swerved to the left, and sped forwards. As it flew over a mountain, we suddenly noticed the huge base cut into the rocky mountainside. The helicopter containing Saturn and Jupiter hurried towards it, before landing on the clearly marked out landing area. The Team Galactic members that had been in Pewter City all hurried out of the helicopter, and pulled out their Poké Balls. In a blinding flash of light, the Pokémon appeared.

“Blast them out of the sky!” Saturn commanded.

“Crap!” I yelled. “Articuno, use Blizzard!”

“Aura Sphere, Togekiss!” Toby yelled above the roar of the enemy attacks.

“Use Hyper Beam, Braviary!” Steven cried.

At once, the three flying Pokémon let loose their powerful attacks. While Hyper Beam and Aura Sphere smashed into Team Galactic’s Pokémon, Articuno’s Blizzard attack froze the remaining Pokémon that had not been hit by the former attacks. With Team Galactic’s Pokémon out of the way, Steven, Toby, and I jumped down onto the base. The Team Galactic members, knowing they had been defeated, moved behind the two Commanders, who appeared to be grinning – as if they had wanted us to defeat the members.

“You stupid fools!” Commander Saturn mocked. “You’ve walked right into our trap!”

The two Commanders suddenly pulled out dark plated Poké Balls and raised them into the air. Commander Saturn smiled as he noticed the fear grow in our faces, but was cut short of yelling his Pokemon’s name, as suddenly a huge dark fire erupted between the Commander and me. A hand reached out and grabbed Saturn’s arm before he could launch the ball into the air. Saturn pulled his arm back in shock and stood back as the fire exploded, and disappeared, to reveal a tall man wearing dark blue robes, a white belt sash, black gloves, and a purple bandanna that tapered down to his back. However, perhaps his most striking bit of clothing was the pure black mask that covered his face, and immediately identified the man as the person we had been seeking.

.

“Nightshroad!” I gasped.

.

“Master! What are you doing here?!” Jupiter yelled.

.

“I was hardly going to wait for you to fail me again, Jupiter.” Nightshroad replied calmly. “Besides, I’d rather meet the prophesised Boy himself.”

.

The masked man turned to face me. Anger filled inside as I remembered that this was the mastermind behind destroying half of the Pokémon Academy, and installing fear deep into one of the greatest Scientists in the entire world. Nightshroad needed to be taken down. Now.

.

With fists raised, I charged at him. Nightshroad simply grabbed my fist moments before I could connect. From lessons in self-defence, I swung my leg round to try and hit his head, but once again this was blocked by my masked enemy with his free hand. Off-balance and unable to attack further, Nightshroad twisted my arm so that I fell to the floor in agony, before letting go off my leg and slamming his hand into my neck. I was pinned down, unable to move. If it had not been Nightshroad’s next comment, I’m sure he would have killed me.

.

"Hold your anger." Nightshroad told me. "I only wish to talk to you."
