“Izuna? How is that possible?!” I shouted. “You died 1000 years ago! How can you be here?!”
.
“Technically, you’re right – I am dead. But, before I died, the Goddess made sure that I could appear before you as a spirit. To put it simply, I’m alive in your mind.” The man laughed. “It’s a bit hard to explain.”
.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
.
"I think you know that really, Sam." Izuna smiled meekly. "Your world is in great danger. Perhaps the strongest warrior in History has been revived in your time, with a vendetta against Kanto the size of a continent."
.
Izuna's facial expression changed, and he became much more serious. "Nightshroad and Madara are an extremely dangerous pair. Madara’s colossal strength and experience in wars combined with Nightshroad’s magic and knowledge would be enough to take down the entire world, if you gave them a chance to do so.”
.
"So what do I do...?" I responded quietly.
.
"You have to take down both Madara and Nightshroad, Sam. If either one of them walk away from this battle, then it could mean disaster.”
.
“But how am I meant to do that?!” I exclaimed desperately. “They’re both far too strong! I can’t do it…”
.
“Sam…” Izuna calmly began to say. “Nightshroad and Madara are strong. There is no denying that. But I know, just by looking at you, that you are stronger. You have something that those two don’t.”
.
He smiled before continuing.
.
“You have the power of friendship. People who would lay down their lives to help you – and I know you feel the same way. It sounds cliché, I’m sure, but friendship is one of the most powerful feelings there is. The strive to protect your friends grants you the greatest form of spiritual power.”
.
“Friendship…?” I muttered, thinking about the term. Even though they had witnessed me seemingly die by Nightshroad’s hand, my friends still never stopped believing in me. Even now, they stayed behind to fight Team Galactic, despite knowing there was a huge risk. They believed I could defeat Madara and Nightshroad!
.
Izuna smiled. “Friendship is something that Madara and Nightshroad do not have. They have never truly known it.”
.
“Wasn’t you and Madara once friends?” I asked, quizzically.
.
“‘Once’ being the key word.” Izuna muttered, seemingly pained at the memory. “It’s true that we once used to be friends. But that all changed when he betrayed my trust and killed my Father. To truly explain, Sam, I need to take you back 1000 years ago – to that day.”

1000 years ago…
.
The day was bright and sunny. Not a dark cloud could be seen for miles, and the blue skies illuminated the green land around Izuna and Madara’s village.
