She has to be here, in this direction I can feel it. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't find her. "Sister.. please say something again. I need to know you're okay!" It was silent for a moment, before a quiet grumbling straight ahead of me. I ran faster despite the fact that I couldn't see with the rain water in my eyes. I tripped over roots sliding across the ground my clothes getting cut up.
Lightning crashed next to me blowing me into a tree, I lay there dazed for a moment trying to force myself to my feet. I couldn't. I let my eyes close I couldn't keep them open any longer. I was cold and soaking wet, and I missed my sister. "Sister! Oh no, what are you doing out here! You are soaking wet." Her voice broke through to me.
I let my eyes open slowly seeing her white scales and bright eyes looking down to me. I tried to smile and lifted a hand to her scales rubbing them as she pushed closer to me. Then darkness, all I'd wanted was a place to be with my sister. The irony of it was I failed at that miserably. I could have done so many other things that would have been less dangerous than flying away from a storm.
I was just afraid to lose her, but she was happy enough being around Toothless. I think she had chosen him as her mate, funny how that works. Sisters falling for friends. Yet I'd dragged the both of us away from our home just so we had time to ourselves, time I thought we needed to be together. This was my fault, my fault that we were in this mess. No one will even know where we are, we could die here... alone... just like mother did.
When I woke up, I was back in the cave, rain still pouring down from the skies. Whoever these gods were must have been angry to create a storm like this. Inside the cave was a small fire where I'd left it and Snow curled up to me sleeping soundly. I smiled weakly, just knowing she was alright. It made me, really happy to know she was okay. I shifted in her grasp, even with as weak as I felt I wanted to examine her for injuries.
I ran my hand over her wings, checking to see if they were broken or sprained. Thankfully they weren't, small cuts along her scales from the landing but she was no worse for ware. I leaned against her wondering what we would do when the rain stopped. It might be best if we went home, we were gone for longer than I thought we would be. Given what happened it couldn't be helped.
Right now, everything was wavy and hot. My eyes were still heavy and I felt nauseous. Snow lifted her head looking over to me, "Sister? You should be resting, I will find something for us to eat later." I nodded settling on the ground next to her again, her warm wings wrapping around me pulling me closer to her body. "I'm sorry I lost you."
I heard her groan just at the edges of my sleep, so I placed my hand over her heart. Humming a soothing song until I slipped into unconsciousness. When I woke Snow was gone and I still felt hot, a fire still lite close to me. It didn't seem to be raining anymore so maybe Snow went out. Screeching came from outside the cave, but I couldn't be bothered with it right now.
Even when Snow came bounding in looking back to see if whatever it was, was following her. Seeming satisfied she moved her big head to mine, I lifted a heavy hand placing it on her head. "There you are, I was about to be worried." I hummed rubbing her scales.
She winned pressing closer to me, "You will be better soon. I promise." I smiled closing my eyes again, my hand slipping from her head. We both knew I was sick, there was no denying it. It's probably the worst I've been in awhile.
Heavy footsteps came from the cave entrance as well as the sound of a metal spring. "(Y/n) there you are. You were only supposed to be gone one day." I opened my eyes again feeling a hand touch my face. "Hey, you're burning up. What happened?" It was just Hiccup. Snow whinned beside him, Toothless coming up as well. I tried to push myself up but winced falling back, my ribs ached. "Take it easy, we need to get you back home first before that storm starts up again."
I nodded letting him pick me up, and place me on Snows sattle. Toothless rubbed his head up against hers, making that aroo like sound. "She is going to be fine, you did the right thing coming to get us." He was trying to assure her as Hiccup got onto Toothless's sattle.
I slept the whole way back only waking again with that green paste spread over my head and chest. Snow sleeping soundly beside me. Looking around I made the place out as Hiccups hut, and something warm behind me. I turned my head to see Hiccup lying beside me, arms wrapped tightly around my waist. He'd buried his head in my neck breathing lightly.
Humming I turned and curled closer to him. My body didn't ache as it had previously. Mostly my ribs. He groaned and opened his eyes. "(Y/n)?"
I smiled lightly. "Hey Hiccup." He placed his hand against the top of my head, rubbing it gently. It honestly felt nice.
After a few minutes he pulled away and sat up. "You hungry?" I nodded following him in sitting up. He helped me to the bench before walking off, it was nice to be back home. "How does fresh fish sound?"
