"Snow come on, lets get going its almost day break and we don't want the guys asking where we are going. We already told Hiccup." I had gotten up about an hour ago to pack the final things I needed in my bag. It was going to take three days to get to my old island and we both wanted to go see mom, or the place we left her. We were going to be gone for about ten moons.

"Alright, lets go. You have everything?" I nodded getting on the saddle. Then we flew off, we hid in the moon so that no one would see us leave just in case. After a few hours we landed on a near by island so Snow could rest and get some water. I sat on a rock biting into a fruit and had some fish pulled out for her when she came back.

"So the water here is strangely quiet. Then so is the whole island. Have you heard any other dragons?" Snow looked to me as she lifted her head from the lake. I looked around and listened, she had a point. It was much to quiet here, I pulled out my maps and looked at the island.

"I think it would be best if we left now Snow. This is the island that we left when the dragons started to disappear. It isn't safe here." Snow nodded and came over to me and I put everything back into the bag and we flew away. Looking out over the sea we saw a single boat with what looked to be the dragon hunters flag. We would have hid in the clouds if there were any but the skies were clear.

We kept flying until it was dark out landing on the occasional island to let Snow drink and eat before we continued. After we had been flying for two days we stopped by the cave we were living in with our mother. When we walked in I didn't see any bones, only scratch marks along the walls. Snow came in behind me and sniffed the air.

We couldn't stay in there, we wanted some peace when we came here but there was nothing in this cave to give us the peace we wanted. "Sister... where did mother go?" Snow looked up to me confused. We had left here here in this cave and sealed the entrance there was nothing that could have gotten here. I walked deeper into the cave looking at the marks on the wall.

"Snow.. what do you think made these? They were not here when we left." I ran my hand over the scratch it was actually pretty deep. Snow now stood beside me and put her claws up to it. They were almost the same just a little larger, we both looked to each other in shock. "Are we sure mom was gone when we came back?" Snow gave me the same concerned look. We looked deeper into the cave and decided it best to go investigate.

I made a torch and Snow lite it and we walked in deeper. Looking around we didn't see the claw marks and instead there was an arrow and a few burn marks. I picked up the arrow and held it to the light. It was coated in an almost red dirt, I put it in my pack and we continued in deeper. "Mom? Mom are you there?" Snow called out as we kept going further back. Her call echoing with no response. We didn't see anymore marks on the wall or any other arrows.

We instead were met with a pile of bones and helmets with an opening at the top of the cave. The stars spilling in through the hole. Snow didn't follow me as I went to investigate. I started with the bones, there were strips of cloth hanging around some of them. They must have fallen during the attack. I picked up a single bow a little ways away, seeming to be one also used by the hunters. "You don't think the hunters went after mom do you?" I asked looping the bow around my back.

"No, mother was gone when we left, she must have been. She smelled strange and wasn't moving. There is no way she was taken by them." Snow walked up to me her head under my hand as we looked around. I picked up a few swords, arrows, and axes before we looked at the cloth in the very back of the cave. Underneath was one of my journals that I had thought I'd lost, we were the only one's who knew where these were. "Did you loose any other journals before we left?" I nodded looking around seeing a single crate.
