"Snow come on, we'll be gone for at most half a day. We need to scout to see if we can find where Vigo is hiding the dragons. We can't just abandon them, and were the only ones who can stay hidden in the day and night." I said trying to coax her, she had gotten.. a little over protective since the twins cousin came to visit.
I figured this would be the best way to calm her was to pretend we were going on a mission. Hiccup knew what I was doing because I told him that Snow and I needed a few days to ourselves. We needed to reconnect our bond as siblings, and dragons. I needed to show her that she was still the most important thing in my life and not all of these new Viking people. "Very well, where are we going then?"
Taking this as the opportunity I needed I jumped onto her back rubbing her head. "There is an island not to far north of here. There is a cave that we can check out. If Viggo isn't there then we can come straight back. If there are operations going on we take notes and then come tell Hiccup. Is that agreeable to you?"
"Yes, sister. I think I can agree with this. But we are not to do any fighting." I nodded letting her know I understood. Then we were off, having spent about two hours flying already. The island was about another hour away, but the wind seemed to carry an ominous cloud with it. The air came from the south so I glanced back on occasion and could see what looked like a storm brewing. That might be a problem. "Is there something wrong (Y/n)."
I looked back not having noticed I was staring behind her at the clouds. "No, it's nothing. Lets just pick up the pace I want to get there in the next hour." I muttered looking back ahead of us. She seemed skeptical but continued none the less, honestly the faster we landed the better. I didn't want to be caught out in a storm.
We didn't make it to the island, the storm was on us much faster than I thought it would be. Snow was flying in a random direction because I had no idea where. The winds and rain had put us off course and I couldn't see anything. "We need to land somewhere soon. Where did this storm even come from?" Snow asked just before lightning struck right before us.
I screamed before falling off of Snow heading straight down. She made a nose dive straight for me catching me in her claws before folding her wings in moments before we crashed into some trees. I was knocked away from her and tumbled down a small hill straight into the ocean. I held my breath trying my best to get to the surface of the water but the waves prevented me from doing so. Instead my head hit some rocks as the waters swirled round tossing me like a ragdoll. That's when everything went dark.
When I opened my eyes I was lying on a beach and started coughing out water. It burned as I tried to clear my airways, more than the cuts and bruises I'd received from the fall and the ocean. When I was able to breathe again I looked around, I was completely alone. "Snow! Can you hear me?!" Nothing. "Snow!" Nothing but the rustling of the leaves and the smell of a second storm brewing near by.
I needed to get a fire going and find shelter before I got sick. I ran through the woods as fast as I could but only managed to get more cuts along my arms and face. I stopped just before a large cliff face. There had to be a cave nearby at least, I shivered as I tried to decide which way to go. Choosing the left path I gathered everything I would need to make a quick fire when I found the cave.
About a half an hour of walking I finally found one and quickly made my way inside of it. Starting the fire took longer than I would have liked but there was no helping it. Once started I sat before it shivering and gave a small sneeze. I looked out seeing the rain starting up again, I can't go out in this. I need to wait for it to blow over before I try to find my sister. I can't find her with weather like this and I would be useless to her sick.
I sat further back in the cave and closed my eyes, I guess now was as good a time as any to get some rest. "Snow.. I wish you were here with me." I muttered just before drifting off. When I opened my eyes in the morning it was still raining and my fire was out. I got up and walked over to the cave entrance just staring out into the forest. At this rate I might just have to head out rain or no rain.
I rubbed my hand against my face, I fell off of a cliff so if I climb up, then maybe I can find her up there? I'll wait a few hours and see if the weather clears up first, and if not then I would go looking for her. Before I go out there though I need to restart my fire. "Snow! I'm coming for you, and I will find you.. my dear sister I will find you!" I yelled out, hoping that she could at least hear me.
(Time Skip)
It's been almost half of a day and yet the rain is just getting heavier. I had no choice now, I have to go looking for her. She won't be able to track my sent here so I need a way to find her. The question was.. how was I going to find her. I was no tracking dragon and this rain makes it hard to see. Still, I can't wait here by myself until this weather passes. I have to find my sister.
I gritted my teeth, this had to be done I need to find her now. I ran out as quickly as I could, I need to find a place to scale the cliff. Looking up I couldn't see any thing I just had to go for it and feel before I let go of each hold and hope it was enough. I started climbing slowly the walls of the cliff were soaked through.
Some of the dirt broke away from my foot holds and I had to adjust them quickly so I didn't fall back down. It took about three and a half hours to get to the top and I was soaked to my bones by the time I reached the top. Not to mention exhausted, but that wouldn't matter if I didn't find Snow. "Snow! Can you hear me sister?! Snow!" I heard a soft call in the distance maybe that was her. I got up and started running to where I'd heard it come from, so what if I couldn't see anything ahead of me but I needed to find her. "Snow!"
Nothing this time, but at least some of this area looked familiar. The trees in this area looked like the ones I fell down in.. but then it could just be my imagination. Even still I could only hope to find- there, that is where Snow hit the trees. If I follow the crash it can lead me to where Snow could still be if she hasn't yet left. I narrowed my eyes and ran down the path of destruction.
Finding the end was easy, but Snow wasn't there. I wined slightly, why wasn't she here. She wouldn't have left me alone. I shivered slightly, maybe there were prints on the ground? Something to tell me what direction she went in, not that the weather clearing wouldn't help. "Come on Snow! Answer me please, where are you?" There was call now, I knew it was her. She was left of me so I went off into that direction.
