Sick

(Hiccup POV)

I walked back into my room after Astrid left and saw Snow and (Y/N) sleeping peacefully on Toothlesses rock. So I left to do my chores on the island. After a few hours I returned to my hut to make lunch where (Y/N) was still sleeping.

I walked into the kitchen and cooked up some mutton and put out some water and berries. Walking over to her a little while later I saw Snow was awake and looked worried. "Hey girl, what's up?" I asked inching closer with my hand out.

(Y/n) was sweating and her face was red. I approached her and Snow placing the back of my hand on her forehead.  She was hot and her breathing was harsh. "She is burning up. How long has she been this hot?" I look to her dragon who wines in return and starts to move.

She moved enough for me to pick (Y/N) up and place her on my bed. She shivered as I pulled the blankets over her. Going to get a bucket and cool damp cloth from the kitchen I bring over her water. I lift up her head slightly and her eyes open slightly and look to me.

"Hey Hiccup. What's going on?" She asked as I put the cup of cool water to her lips. She takes a sip and started coughing to which I sit her up further and rub her back till she calmed down. "Heh looks like the cold water got to me after all. Well that bites."

"What do you mean cold water? Are you talking about yesterday?" She shook her head and smiled to me. She tried to get out of my grip but stumbled back onto the bed. Then sighed slightly.

"No. I don't.. maybe? Astrid used cold water to clean the bandages, but then again I was feeling hot and dizzy before that so maybe the ocean. Hard to say, I can't stay wet or cold for long periods of time or I get sick. Snow usually takes care of me keeping me warm while mother gathered food."

I nodded and looked to her dragon and then let out a small sigh. "Well without your mother here why don't you let me worry about that part. I've got lunch at the table if you'd care to join me." She nodded and i helped her stand pulling the blanket around her shoulders and led her to the table.

Helping her sit down I pulled up the plate with food on it. I sat next to her keeping one hand on the square of her back so that she wouldn't fall. We ate our lunch and after I went to lead her back to the bed when Astrid came in. "Hiccup come on, lets go train." She stood in the door way with me holding (Y/N) up, her full wait hanging off of me. "Hiccup what are you doing with her?"

"Taking her to the bed, she apparently managed to get sick when she landed in the ocean most likely. Mind giving me a hand-" she cut me off pulling me into a kiss. I would have kissed back usually but since I was holding (Y/N) up it was difficult. I felt her slipping her arm over my shoulders and throw (Y/N) to the side. Luckily Snow caught her and growled at us. I pushed Astrid off of me, she was acting different than usual and I didn't particularly like it.

I heard (Y/N) coughing heavily and turned to see she was on her knees holding onto Snow but her hand slipped and she was on the ground. Snow again tried to drag her off to the rock to sleep but stopped when they started to cough harder. Snow looked to me in concern not knowing what to do.  "Astrid go get Fishlegs and inform him about the situation, after you get back we need to talk about what just happened."

"Why should I help her, we don't even know who she is or where she came from." She tried to but I just shot her a stern look. She huffed and walked out the door taking off on StormFly. I quickly walked over to (Y/N) and picked her up, one hand behind her knees the other on the small of her back. She didn't finish eating her lunch but said she was full so I didn't know what to think.

"Your going to be ok I promise, just hold on until Fishlegs gets here with some medicine to help lower that fever." I carried her over to the bed her small hand holding onto my shirt. I placed her down and went to move her hand off so I could cover her up but I heard Snow growl behind me. "Look Snow I'm just going to take her hand off of my shirt so I can roll the covers over her."

She made a huffing noise as I remove her hand from me, I pulled up the covers. "Mom where are you? Its to hot. Hot, so hot. Snow back off on the flames. Hiccup?" She seemed to go between languages. I could only make out a few words she said. I took the cool cloth and placed it on her head, then I heard Fishlegs and Astrid land outside.

"Hiccup I've got it now. Just tell me what's up so I can take care of it from here." I explained the situation and walked away while Fishlegs took over. I walked outside to Astrid arms crossed in front of me.

"Alright Astrid spill, what is up with you today. You were ruff with (Y/N) and yo knew she was injured. Not to mention you may have made her sickness worse than it would have been. You were supposed to replace the bandages not soak them in cold water."

"Hiccup what are you talking about. I didn't shoot her out of the sky, I didn't make her sick. It has been about her since she fell from the sky. We don't know who she is or where she came from. Yet now everything seem to be about her. Its almost like you don't love me anymore." I stared at her.

"No you didn't shoot her down, and no you didn't make her sick. I know that, but I don't know what you mean by its been about her. She just fell out of the sky yesterday. She can talk to Toothless, and her dragon has the answer as to where she came from most likely. Didn't you even bother to look at Snow, the dragon is genially concerned for her 'sister.' Their mother died, I seem to know more about here yet you wont even try to look at her. Its like you want her dead!"

"Maybe I do Hiccup! Because she is not one of us. She has a strange dragon we have never seen before, came from out of nowhere with trappers on her tail. Why would I trust someone like her?!"

"Astrid... go home. We will go back to Berk in a few days after Snow has healed. Gothi can take care of (Y/N) when we get back. Will you be happy with that?"

"No Hiccup, I was suppose to be your second. I think we are done. StormFly!" She jumped on her dragon and flew away to Berk. I would see her in a few days so I didn't worry about it to much. For now I needed to focus on getting Snow set up somewhere so that (Y/N) could get some rest. What did she mean by my second though.

"Hiccup, I gave her some medicine to help with the fever but she keeps asking for you.. and mumbling like a dragon so I cant catch most of what she is saying."

"Its alright Fishlegs. Follow Astrid to make sure she gets back to Berk safely and pick up some supplies from Gothi while your there." I said walking past him, he just nodded and flew off. I walked over to where (Y/N) was sleeping and sat on the edge of the bed.
