I wake up early, have a shower and get ready. I wear a blue blouse, a black knee high pencil skirt and black heels. I put half of my long hair up, and leave the other half down. I start my makeup, going for a brown colour on my eyelids, pinkish blusher on my cheek bones, and finish it off with some pink lip gloss. I'm feeling nervous for some reason. I spray on some perfume and head to work.
I sit in my office, with the door open. Every time someone walks past I look up to see if it's Michael. I catch myself constantly looking up and I shake my head. I should stop. But I'm excited to see him... I'm excited to see him?! It's funny how I've gone from wanting him fired, to now wanting to see him walk past my office.
"Morning."
I look up from my laptop and see Michael at the doorway. My belly flips instantly, as I try to hide a smile.
"Morning."
"How are you?" He asks walking in.
"I'm ok. How are you?"
"I'm good." He nods.
"You look good."
He smirks and I correct my sentence.
"I mean, better than when I saw you last."
He checks me out, looking me up and down.
"You look good too, but then you always do."
I look down and smile.
"Hi Michael." Marcus says walking in to my office.
I clear my throat and quickly look at my laptop.
"Hi." Michael smiles.
Marcus pauses and gives Michael a look.
"What happened to your lip?"
"Uh me and my friend got in to a situation at the weekend... but I'm fine."
"Good. I'm gonna need to borrow you all day today if that's ok?"
"Yeah sure." Michael nods.
"That's ok isn't it Layla?" Marcus asks looking at me.
"Uh, yeah?" I let out a soft laugh. "Of course."
"I've actually still got some work I need to finish-"
"Don't worry about that for now. I've got other stuff I need you for."
I suddenly feel really uneasy and bad... Marcus hasn't got a clue, and he's talking to Michael and me... and knowing what I've done makes me feel terrible.
"I'll see you at lunch Lay. I'll take you some where nice."
"Oh, ok." I smile.
He smiles at me and walks out. Michael looks back at me as he follows Marcus out. I look up at him and he winks at me. I smile widely and watch him leave. I feel hot. Am I blushing? I touch my face and drink some water.
Lunch time comes around and Marcus comes by my office, taking me out to lunch. As we leave the building I notice Michael leave as well. I try to see where he goes but Marcus catches me staring.
"Everything ok?" He asks.
I quickly look up at him.
"Yeah. Fine." I smile.
"You were looking over at Michael."
"I was just wondering what he's doing. He has a lot of work to finish."
"Yeah and he'll finish it, he's just helping me at the moment."
I nod.
"And how's it going?"
