For the past week Marcus hasn't let me do anything. He's kept his eye on me at work like a fucking hawk, and I've not been allowed out of the house. He eventually gave me my mobile back, but deleted Michaels number from it. Hayley wants to see me today, so I'm hoping Marcus let's me go out. I've been hoping Michael would come by... But I think he hates me now... One way or another I'll speak to him. I just need Marcus to believe that me and him are ok again. I need things to settle a bit.

"Hayley is coming by to pick me up." I say walking in to the living room.

"Oh." He looks up at me. "Where are you going?"

"Just shopping."

"Don't be long." He says giving me a look.

"You can't keep me locked up in the house Marcus. I'll be a few hours that's all. I promise."

He squints his eyes at me. There's a knock at the door. I look away from him and walk over, opening the door.

"Hey." Hayley smiles.

"Hey." I smile.

"You ready to spend all your money?" She asks grinning.

"She'll be spending mine." Marcus says coming to the door.

He gets his wallet out and holds out some cash. I lower my eyebrows.

"Thanks Marcus, but I don't-"

"Take it. Get something nice."

I stare at him for a couple of seconds.

"What's the problem?" He laughs. "Can't I treat my wife?"

"That's what a husband should do." Hayley smirks. "Jake didn't give me any money though." She makes a face.

I let out a soft laugh and hesitantly take the money from him.

"Thanks..." I say quietly.

He kisses me.

"Have a good time." He says looking at me and then Hayley.

We smile.

"See you later." I say walking out the door.

We get in Haleys car. Marcus looks at me one last time before closing the door.

"You and Marcus are ok now?" She asks, pulling out of our drive.

"No. Not really."

"You two seemed fine."

"I want to take my mind off of things today and have a nice time. Can we not talk about my marriage?"

"Ok.. sure. Sorry... But... are you still seeing Michael?"

I look out of the window, feeling myself about to cry. I clear my throat.

"No, I'm not."

"Oh?"

It goes silent for a couple of minutes.

"Fuck men. We will have a good time today sis." Hayley smiles at me.

I show half a smile.

"I'm glad Jake has the day off. Gives me time to myself, away from Zack for a change."

"Yeah." I nod.

"It's a good thing you don't have kids with Marcus, considering things aren't going well."

"Yeah... I'm glad I don't."

"Anyway, fancy something to eat before we shop till we drop?"

"Sounds good." I smile.
