Chapter 68: Trick or Treat

Zack runs around my house, holding his trick or treat bag.

"Zack calm down." Hayley sighs.

I smile and grab his shoulders stopping him.

"Want to help me carve the pumpkin?" I ask looking down at Zack.

"Then can I go trick or treating?"

"Yes." I smirk.

"Ok!" He smiles and runs in to the kitchen.

"Has he had sugar already?" I ask Hayley, raising an eyebrow.

"No. He's always fucking like this." She whispers.

I laugh.

"I'm scared to let him have candy."

"If I was you, I'd keep hold of his trick or treat bag."

I give her a look.

"I'm reconsidering taking him. Can't you?" I chuckle.

She laughs and shakes her head.

"You're doing me a massive favour."

"Mmm." I raise an eyebrow.

"I'll bring you over the most expensive bottle of wine tomorrow."

"Bottle?! You mean bottles."

"Ok." She laughs. "What time did you want everyone over?"

"Uh, come over for like eight?"

"Are you dressing up?"

"I probably won't wear a full on Halloween costume."

"Why? It's your house warming party, and you won't be joining in with everyone else?"

"I will. I'm just not going over the top. And anyway, after today Halloween is over."

"I guess. Well, I want me and Jake to do a couple thing." She grins.

"Oooh." I smile. "Like Danny and Sandy from Grease?"

"Oh my god, I didn't think of that one!"

"What were you thinking?" I laugh.

"Me as Harley Quinn and Jake as the Joker."

I laugh and raise my eyebrows.

"What's wrong with that?!"

"Grease would be way better."

"You're right. I'll tell Jake we need new costumes."

We chuckle.

"Is Michael dressing up?"

I pause and look at her.

"He isn't coming." I shake my head.

"Why?" She looks surprised.

"I haven't told him about it."

"Oh..." She looks confused.

"Why do you think Hayley?"

"Well I know there's going to be alcohol here, but I thought he would be ok with that?"

"He's still recovering, and everyone is probably going to be quite drunk by the end of the night. I don't want him around all that. He's doing really well, and I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable or anything."

"But you haven't even given him an option? He doesn't have to stay the whole night either. He would probably like to come."

"Yeah he probably would, but I don't want him here around all of that Hayley. He could be tempted."
