Normal.

That was how Junhui's life was before he met Kim Seoyul.

Pretty much, he'd lived a normal life, unless you count moving to a foreign country that spoke a language you weren't fluent in normal.

Jun had just moved to Korea. He knew nobody. He knew a little Korean but it wasn't enough for him to engage in a real conversation. He was having troubles, problems and he didn't have any idea on how to solve them.

A few days after he had moved in though, she appeared.

Jun didn't know how she'd gotten there. He had remembered to lock the door. He had closed every window the night before, except for the one in his room. Then again, his room door was locked.

"Why are you here?" Jun had asked her.

Seoyul had looked down. "I don't even know."

"Surely there has to be a reason for you to come here specifically." Jun had just pressed on.

The girl laughed. "I was asked to come here."

"Are you like...a guardian angel or something?"

That was one of the most stupid questions he had ever asked her.

"Sort of? Maybe not, but...I guess I'll be here for a while. At the least about a year?"

Jun hadn't really thought much about letting Seoyul stay with him. It was as if she had this calming aura that made everyone like and accept her immediately.

It helped, though.

Seoyul understood some Chinese, so she was able to help him learn Korean easily. She was there when Jun was lonely sometimes because, after all, he was in a new country.

Half a year had passed, and Jun was all the more convinced she was an angel.

Seoyul was innocent and pure, kind and caring.

Everything that resembled an angel.

Unfortunately for him, he didn't know.

He had no idea, absolutely no idea what Seoyul was.

No idea what she could do to him.

About a year after Jun met Seoyul, he met Jae In.

There was this one day where they were talking, and Jun told her about Seoyul, and how she had somehow ended up in his apartment, how she'd ended up staying with him.

"Did you actually think before you let her stay?" Jae In asked him.

"Not really," Jun laughed. "I mean, she had this vibe that made me so comfortable around her, even when we first met. She's...quite nice to be around with."

And then Jae In asked another question that really got him.

"Just curious," Jae In swept a few strands of hair away from her face as she spoke, "Do you like Seoyul?"

Jun was speechless.

And that's when he realised something he wasn't even aware of for a whole year.

He liked Kim Seoyul.
