The group hadn't been there long, and it was already chaotic. Rhonda and Nadine had grabbed several different types of swimsuits. All with different shapes, sizes, and colors. Helga picked up a swimsuit that was a little skimpier than the rest before she threw it back down in the pile. It was a good idea, but now it was getting out of hand.
"I'm not so confident about this anymore." Helga announced worriedly.
"We'll find you the right suit, Helga. Don't you worry." Sheena said, holding a cute green one.
"Wow, there has to be over 50 suites here?" Eugene rummaged through the pile. "I didn't realize that it would be so difficult to find a suit for girls. Will you guys try on every one of these?"
"Well, you have to find the perfect one for your body type." Rhonda added another suit to the pile. "It's always good to have different kinds because no two people will look good in the same suit. We might not try on all of them, but you never know if it's the first or the fortieth suit that will be perfect."
"I think we have enough." Nadine seemed pleased with the pile.
"I'll go first." Rhonda grabbed two suits and ran into the dressing room.
Some of the guys had already chosen new swim trunks. As the rest chose what they wanted, they idly chatted about what they had gotten themselves into. They had no idea what kind of a circus shopping with girls turned out to be. It became the focus of their conversation.
"I plum don't understand why they only do one girl at a time." Stinky gawked. "I figured it would take a lifetime to find one suit. How can girls handle sitting around doing nothing?"
"No wonder shopping with girls takes so long." Curly pointed out.
"We can't trust our own eyes or mirrors." Nadine pointed out while she waited for Rhoda to emerge. "Shops that cater to women have a tendency to have better lighting and mirrors that are formed to make us look great. Plus, we only see the bad when we look at ourselves. It's the product of marketing. So, we need our friends to give us an outsider's perspective. It can help us find happiness with our own bodies. Now, hush!"
The rest of the guys had finally found which suit they were looking for and had returned to the group. It didn't take to long for Rhonda to exit out of the dressing room with the first suit on. It was black string on the bottom and red string on the top. She walked out, made a turn, and stuck a pose. The girls erupted with their comments.
"I like it." Nadine said first.
"You sure it works? I didn't want the suit to be a mono color." Rhonda pointed out.
"Are you sure the top is the right size?" Phoebe wondered. "It looks a little small."
Rhonda adjusted it. "I might only have A-cups, but I wanted to show off a little something. So, I figured I can wear a size smaller, and it will give me the illusion of cleavage."
"What are they talking about?" Harold was the last to join the group.
"Boobs" Gerald informed him.
"Well..." Harold looked to the girls. "NOW, I'm glad I came."
"Dude, that's my woman you're talking about." Curly punch Harold on the shoulder.
Rhonda and Curly had just started dating. He claims he wore her down, but puberty really helped him out. He went from a short, awkward boy with unflattering glasses to a tall man with designer threads. He still can be a little geeky, but Rhonda has come to find it adorable.
The guys laughed at Curly and Harold's interaction. Rhonda rolled her eyes before heading back into the dressing room. She had loved the first one so much that she had no desire to try on any other suit. The girls were quietly trying to decide who was next to try on some swimsuits.
