Arnold woke up the next day with determination. First, he'll have a heart to heart with Chad, then off to apologize to Helga once more with the gift he got her. Plan all set, he rushed to get ready and made his way downstairs.
"Morning, Kimba." Arnold's grandmother greeted him.
"Morning Grandma." Arnold greeted her back.
"Ready for another adventure?" His grandmother asked.
"I got plans today, Grandma. Maybe another time." Arnold didn't know what she was thinking, but he had to get going.
"Plans?" Miles walked into the room.
"Yeah, I do." Arnold sounded confident.
"With Helga?" Miles was hopeful.
"Hope so. I have to fight for her first." Arnold grabbed an apple and headed for the door.
"Give 'em Hell." Miles yelled.
Arnold rushed, head strong, out the front door. Making his way to the bus stop. He had no idea where Chad would be, but he'd start at the only place he knew, the pizzeria. It was an hour before noon, so he hoped it was open. If Chad wasn't there, maybe he could get someone to tell him when he'd be coming in.
The bus arrived on time and Arnold took a seat. He just thought about all of the things he needed to say. Most of the time when he talked to others, he got them to see his way. Everything would work out great. From the time with Mighty Pete to saving the entire neighborhood, Arnold has always had a way with words. Confidence radiated off Arnold because of all his past successes.
When the bus made it to the stop near the Pizzeria, Arnold got off. Walking the extra block was nothing. Arnold could help but smile. When he approached the restaurant, he saw who he was there to see. Chad was outside with his two friends from before.
"Well, look who's here." One of Chad's friends informed.
Chad turned his attention to the area his friend was pointing. "Oh, hey there....ex-boyfriend of my soon-to-be girlfriend."
Arnold flinched at his words. "That's why I'm here. We need to talk."
"Sure. whatever you say. I'll see you guys later." Chad tried to send his friends away.
"You sure?" His very quiet friend spoke out.
"Yeah, I think I can handle him." Chad motioned to Arnold like he couldn't hear them.
As Chad's friends left, he made his way over to Arnold. He looked confident in his approach, and it made Arnold worried a little, but he had a plan.
Chad smirk at Arnold. "What can I help you with?"
"I was hoping I could talk to you about Helga." Arnold started off calm and collected.
"What about her?" Chad's face showed he was confused on why they were talking about her.
"I was hoping.... that you could bow out gracefully on her." Arnold didn't want to be aggressive towards him.
"Why?" Chad didn't back down.
"Well, because her and I have a past and a connection that can't be broken." Arnold smiled softly, thinking of her.
"And?" Chad wasn't getting it.
"AND... I'd like you to not try and take her from me." Arnold looked perplexed on how Chad couldn't be understanding.
Chad thought for a moment. "No."
Arnold was taken aback. "No?"
"Yeah, what part of no do you not understanding?" Chad replied snidely.
