Helga fidgeted with the dress that Olga picked out for her the night before. It was pink satin that fell right below her knees. It had a sweetheart neckline that showed off more cleavage than she was use too. With thick straps that crisscrossed several times on her mostly exposed back. It wouldn't have been Helga's choice, but that was the point.
"A very grown-up dress for my very grown-up baby sister." Olga forced Helga to look in her full-length mirror.
Helga could only stare. Every time she looked in a mirror, more of the new woman looked back and less of the old showed. She felt conflicted about everything now and didn't know where to turn too. She gave a shot with the one person she hoped could help.
"Does it look alright?" Helga shyly asked her older sister.
"Of course, it does. Why? Do you not trust me to dress you in a flattering way?" Olga looked offended.
"That's not it. I was just worried that I look weird. Now that I look... like this." Helga motioned to all of herself.
Olga understood. "Helga, you might always be my baby sister, but I can tell you without a doubt that you have become a very beautiful woman. One day, a man will see you and won't be able to live without you in his life. Then a true love will blossom that will last a lifetime. So true that even I will be jealous of it."
"How will I know it's true love?" Helga desperately needed to know the answer.
"To me, A love could be no truer than when two people fit together perfectly. It is hard to know if two people fit. A lot of people will just be with someone because they want to make the other person happy. Even if it doesn't make them happy. That's wrong. A real love shares all emotion with the other person. Even the bad ones. They are not afraid to tell you what they want. Even if you don't want it. " Olga clutched Helga shoulders and stared at her reflection in the mirror.
"Do you think I could really find a love like that?" With all that was happening with Arnold, Helga really worried that maybe she wasn't the type of person someone could love.
"What's all this talk about? Of course. I've never known you to be so soft. My baby sister IS really becoming a woman, right before my very eyes." Olga couldn't help but start to tear up.
"Okay, enough. If you continue Bob will think I said something to hurt your feelings." Helga walked over to her bed to put on the cute white ankle boots with a peep toe that Olga chose.
"Fine, I'm sorry. Hurry up I need to do your hair and make-up." Olga went to set up all she needed to turn Helga into a knockout.
Helga stopped to take a moment to look out her window. The ceremony wasn't until 2pm but Olga had convinced the family to go out to a fancy lunch beforehand. Not that she really cared. She did want this day to be over with. She hadn't decided if she was going to New York or not, but Olga needed to know by tomorrow.
Helga heard Olga coming back and moved herself to the chair in front of the mirror. If this didn't wake Arnold up, then her decision was made for her.

At Sunset Arms, Arnold fixed his tie before he reached the landing. Everyone was waiting for the photo op. He couldn't help but smile at all the commotion he was getting. It was going to be a wonderful day. Even if he couldn't spend any time with Helga. If she asked, he would be honest. He knew of all things, that is what she always wanted.
"Look at my almost grown-up boy." Stella started to tear up.
"Mom..." Arnold became embarrassed.
"What? Can't I coo over my little man." Stella went for a huge hug.
