*** 1313 Fatum Way ***Caitlin takes a few steps inside the old house... and the door slams behind her. Turning quickly, her eyes aglow, she finds no one. Turning back her eyes fade and she notices an old staircase. It drops down from either side to a small landing.
"Hello... Is anyone here?" She shouts, and all she hears is her echo.
Looking to the right there's a small room and she cautiously steps inside. It's filled with old dusty furniture and a tall freestanding mirror. There's also old pictures hanging on the walls of the people that lived here.
She walks back into the hallway to check out another room and gasps. Looking to her right she sees a grey mist in front of the stairs. It slowly begins to take a human form and as she continues to watch the dark figure turns and begins to walk down a short hall and faces another door. After a moment it turns it's head toward her...
"Cait..lin..." It's voice echoes and seems so familiar.
"Who are you? What do you want?" She shouts.
The shadow simply turns it's head and enters the room.
"Oh no you don't," Caitlin thinks and begins to run toward the doorway.
Sliding to a stop she looks into what looks like a kitchen. There's three candles lit on the table and the spirit has disappeared. As the candle light flickers on the walls a figure comes forward from the darkness and sits down at the end of the table. It appears to be female and this time, in solid form.
"Hello Caitlin. Won't you join me?" Waving her arm a chair slides back from the table.
Still feeling uneasy, she sits down. "Alright, somehow you've used your tricks to lure me here. So... what do you want?"
She smiles, "So direct... I like that."
"You may not if you don't start talking," her eyes flash.
"There's no need for threats," she looks over at the counter and a trey with two glasses and a bottle of wine levitates over and rests on the table. "I was hoping we could become friends." After pouring the wine Caitlin's glass slides over to her.
"I don't drink with strangers," her eyes turn green as an evil grin appears. " She stands up and holds her hand out toward this girl and lifts her into the air by her neck.
"Now... you're either going to tell me what's going on, and what you want," Caitlin tilts her head, "Or I'm going to kill you."
As she hangs in the air gasping for breath a burst of energy leaves her body and hits Caitlin knocking her down. Screaming with anger she quickly stands to find... no one.
"Where... are... you?" She shouts the raw power flowing through her increases with her anger.
Out of nowhere a hand grabs her neck from behind. She tries to move and finds she can't.
"You're very powerful my dear, but in this house..." she let's go and leisurely walks around to face her. "I... am the stronger."
Caitlin tries to use her power and nothing happens.
"Now that I have your full attention we can talk. You see, whether you know it or not we have a common goal, a destiny if you will."
"Who... or what are you?" Caitlin manages to whisper.
"Put simply, I'm a witch, and my name... is Laura Blackwell."
