Destiny ( A Story of Telekinesis )

Chapter Twenty : Infinity ♾

Opening my eyes I see the sky with the tree tops swaying with the breeze. Sitting up I find several trees have been knocked down leading toward the power plant, and I remember everything. "It worked. Hailey you did it." I hear weapons fire in the distance and leap to my feet. "Kyle, this is your second chance," I say to myself. "So don't screw it up."

As I reach the edge of the tree line I stop running. The battle has definitely begun. The military is throwing everything they have at Destiny, but the rounds are being deflected in all directions. A dome of energy surrounds her and as she lifts her hands she rises into the air.

She looks down at one of the tanks and it levitates. The men inside aim and fire one last round but it's deflected like all the others. Destiny screams and reaches out toward the tank. As she closes her hand, the tank is crushed.

She turns her attention to a group of soldiers firing their weapons at her. She waves her hand and the crushed ball of metal is hurled toward them. As the men dive for their lives it stops just above them. Standing among the soldiers is Max, and he looks pissed. He hurls it back at Destiny, but it hits her shield and falls to the ground.

I can see Hailey and Megan join him and combine their power as Destiny throws out a streak of energy. It strikes the shield they've put up and is reflected back. It hits with force and she's knocked to the ground. Sarah walks just past the others and as Destiny stands she hits her with two powerful bolts of electricity. Destiny screams like a banshee, throws out her hand, and Sarah is hit hard in the stomach and lands rolling in the dirt.

"No you don't. Not this time." With my new gift I create another portal just behind Destiny. Gritting my teeth I lunge through it and hit her in the back, taking her down.

The military stops firing as we roll several times and land a few feet from each other. Both of us stand quickly, ready to fight. "I thought you were dead."

"Think again," Throwing out my hand I release a wave of energy. It hits her and she's thrown back into the air. I see my chance and rush over to my friends.

"Kyle, thank God your alive," Hailey shouts and gives me a hug. I can't help but look at her and smile.  I can tell she senses something. "What?"

"Ask me later," I say as Sarah lands in my arms and we share a kiss.

"Are you okay," she asks.

"I am now." We both smile and share another.

"Hey guys," we turn to Max. "You two can do that later. We still have a big problem. Remember?"

We all stand beside one another and look up at her. She's returned and is hovering before us with her eyes closed and seems to be speaking. "Can anyone tell what she's saying?" I ask.

"Yeah, I'm afraid so," Megan answers. "She's speaking in Latin, and is trying to summon more spirits."  I remember what she said. "All who perish will become my legion of spirits, and I will be their queen."

"Then let's stop her before she can," I glance at the others and Max nods.

"So, what's the plan?" He asks.

"We need to surround her, and when I give the signal, let her have it." They all look at me like I'm crazy. "Hey, trust me," I say and take off.

Max turns to the girls, "I'm starting to like him." He begins to run as well.

Hailey and Megan glance at each other. "Here we go again Hailey."

"Yeah, but now we have two doing it." Kelsey overhears them.

"Okay, Am I missing something?"

"Trust us, you don't want to know," Megan answers as they chase after the guys.
