*** Somewhere off I55 just after 2:00 a.m. ***As the portal closes the wall disappears just as Max throws out another punch. A bolt of energy leaves his fist and hits the ground exploding into the darkness as he falls out of the SUV and lands hard onto the ground.
"Megan!" He shouts uselessly as Hailey drops down by his side and helps him back up to his knees. Jessica staggers out as well still a little disoriented.
"Max, listen to me," She looks down and notices a faint blue glow under his shirt. "You've got to calm down," Hailey pleads.
"I know. I'm, trying," he says and forces himself to close his eyes and take deep breaths.
"Look at me," Hailey says as he turns to her. "We'll get her back. She's going to be alright."
Jessica touches his shoulder, "Max. I'm so sorry."
He stands suddenly as Jessica's thrown back and held against the SUV. "It's your fault!" He shouts and walks toward her. "If it hadn't been for you we wouldn't be here."
Using his thoughts his grip tightens around her neck. "You've been nothing but trouble since the day I met you," he says as she gasps for air.
"Stop it Max. You know that's not true!" Hailey shouts as the blue glow begins to return.
"Get back Hailey," He shouts as she's thrown to the ground. "She deserves this." His eyes are now dark blue. The crystal's taken over once again.
Suddenly Max is hit with powerful bolts of electricity throwing him onto the ground close to Hailey.
"Enough!" Sarah shouts.
Hailey crawls over to him and as he raises up, his eyes fade back to normal.
"Thank God," she says, hugs him, and begins to cry. Sarah also relaxes a little as the power flowing around her hands dissipates.
"Okay. What have I missed?"
Everyone turns to see Logan standing by the SUV along with Jessica. He steps forward and helps Hailey and Max up and as Sarah approaches he looks around.
"Where's Megan?"
Hailey wipes her tears as Max stares at his friend. "She's, been taken."
"Taken? By wh..." He stops as he remembers the girl... with the green eyes.
*** 1313 Fatum Way Fort Worth, Texas ***
It's been a couple hours since she left Megan with Laura. Still awake in her bed she stares at the ceiling thinking about the black spirit, and how it's tormenting their captive.
"Am I doing the right thing? Is this really what I wanted?" A tear falls as she thinks of why she's doing this. "Oh Ben," she whispers. "I miss you so much."
Getting out of bed she goes over to the door. After not hearing anything she opens it and steps into the hall. Easing past Laura's bedroom she heads downstairs and goes into the Den. There she finds Megan still tied to the chair with red glowing ropes. She's staring straight ahead; her eyes black as night.
"I wonder what's really going on in there?" She gets closer and looks directly into her eyes. Caitlin decides to find out, and touches her hand.
Instantly she finds herself in the middle of a field at night. As she looks around she begins to hear a faint cry for help. Walking up a small rise she sees a car upside down. The top is crushed just enough where the doors can't open and the voice calling for help is inside.
