*** Fort Worth, Texas ***We manage to make it into the city limits without any more experiences with Caitlin. I still don't understand exactly what happened back at the gas station, but I'm sure it has something to do with crossing over, if that's what happened, and my new tattoo. All this hocus-pocus has got me really confused. But I can't deny the twin spirits... or the horrifying vision of Sarah.
Somehow I'm going to stop that from happening... but will I have to kill my Sister to do it?
"Well, we're here. Now what? Do we just drive around until we see her?" asks Kelsey.
"First," I hand her my cell. "Call Beth and see if she has any more information on Caitlin or The Special Unit's activity in our area."
"Okay... and what are you going to do?"
"Try out my new ability," I turn to her, "and see where it leads."
*** 1313 Fatum Way Fort Worth, Texas ***
Caitlin stands just outside of the old iron gates to Laura Blackwell's house. A few days ago she offered to bring Ben back if she'd join her in her quest. At first she really didn't know what to think, but since her interaction with Kyle in the park she's had second thoughts.
"Laura was right about Kyle joining forces with The Chosen Ones, the Blackwell twins and Max's girlfriend Hailey. Could she really bring Ben back from the dead? All of this seems so crazy... but then again..."
As she stares into space contemplating her next move the gate unlocks, and swings open.
"If there's any chance at all to be with Ben... I have to take it." She takes a deep breath and walks inside.
Continuing toward the house she hears the rusty gates creak as they shut behind her. Arriving at the front door she reaches for the handle and it swings open with a gust of wind before she can touch it.
"Welcome back Caitlin, "a disembodied voice calls out. "I knew you couldn't resist my offer."
She stops in the middle of the hall and the door slams shut startling her.
"We're very nervous today for some reason." She turns to see Laura sitting in the living room. "Please sit down," a chair slides out slightly. "We have a lot to talk about."
Caitlin proceeds inside, folds her arms and refuses to sit down. All the while not taking her eyes off Laura.
"So, talk."
"Straight to the point. I like that," Laura says smiling. "First of all, I need you to run an errand for me."
"You need me to run out and get you something? Are you for real?" Her eyes glow green as her anger grows.
"I came here for one reason, and one reason only... to get Ben back."
"And I promised that the two of you will be together. I haven't forgotten. But in this deal you have to help me first." Laura smiles evilly. "So calm down!" She shouts as Caitlin's thrown back against the wall.
She steps forward defiantly facing Laura, and watches as she holds up her hands, her power manifesting in swirls of red...
"Do you really want to do this, and give up everything I've promised you?"
Caitlin thinks of Ben, and relents, her eyes fading back to normal.
"Where do you want me to go?"
"One of the few places I cannot. And when you get there I need you to retrieve a very special item." She says and laughs as only a witch can...
