12/04/18 - 1 year, 1 week, 5 days a/b (after breakup)

"So, what're you doing this afternoon?" Alex asked as we stood up at the end of the lecture. I really didn't want him knowing about me and Will, so, of course, I had to lie.

"Working, covering for someone who's off sick," I made up on the spot, putting my backpack over my shoulders and following Alex out.

"After work, feel free to come to the flat. George found a really cheap Wii so we're gonna fuck around on Wii Sports," Alex grinned, "and I bet I'll beat you at everything."

I laughed.
"I'm the master of Wii Sports. And Just Dance - do you have it?"

"Of course we do, come over at 8pm?"

"Sounds good," I said, and walked off to meet with Will.

Butterflies were going crazy in my stomach as I approached the coffee shop and the overpowering aroma of coffee filled my nose.

I pushed open the door and scanned the room for Will, who was sat on a leather sofa on his phone.

He was wearing his denim jacket and ripped jeans. A classic Will look.

I took a deep breath and approached him, sitting on the sofa opposite him.

"Hey," I said, and he looked up from his phone with a smile on his face.

"Hey, you alright?" he replied, putting the phone down on the table.

"Yeah, do you want me to order us some drinks? I think I remember your usual, as long as it hasn't changed,"

"Sure, let me get the money out," he began to reach into his pocket, but I shook my head.

"It's alright, I'll pay," Will tried to stop me, but I had already joined the line. We couldn't help but laugh slightly at eachother and how weirdly casual we were around eachother.

After ordering our drinks, I sat back down opposite Will, and we both sipped our drinks in silence.

What was I meant to say? How do you talk to your ex after a year apart?

"So, hows life been?" I asked, taking a sip of my hot chocolate. I had never been much of a fan of tea, despite the fact that I was British, nor coffee.

"After we broke up, life kinda went to shit for me. Didn't really have much going for me beside YouTube, so it kinda became my life. Then I...uh...Mia and I got back together...still are together, actually," Will stammered out, and, despite my heart shrivelling and crying, I smiled and nodded slightly.

"I'm glad you've found someone."

Fuck. I knew he still liked Mia. Why wouldn't he? She looked like a goddess.  To say I was jealous would be an understatement.

"I actually wanna know if you'd want to meet her?" he asked nervously, looking down.

"Wow...I'd..." I gritted my teeth. I needed to be nice to her for my and Will's friendship. "I'd love to,"

"How does next Saturday sound? She's working all week, out seeing family at the weekend, working all next week but the weekend after she should be free,"

"Sounds good. Great, even. Looking forward to it,"

Will smiled and took another sip of his coffee.

"Have you got someone?" he asked, with a weird look in his eye. I couldn't put my finger on it. Was it the exact feeling I shared? Jealousy? Was it irrational to think so? Yeah, definitely.

I chuckled slightly, maybe sadly, and shook my head.

"Haven't been out much. I spend most of my time in my flat, drinking or sleeping,"

He smiled sadly and put a hand on mine.

"I'll change that, don't worry. Me, you and the guys are going out Friday night. How's that sound?" his sad smile soon turned into a beaming grin. How could I say no to that face?

"I can't wait,"

As soon as the words left my mouth, Will's phone buzzed.

"Oh, hold on, that's Mia,"

mia

He muttered something under his breath before typing back.

"So, I guess you're meeting Mia earlier
than expected,"

"Huh," I started, jealousy eating at me. "I guess I am."
