14. Funny Story

17/04/18 - 1 year, 2 weeks, 3 days a/b (after breakup)

"Do you accept the charges?"

"Yeah, yeah I do,"

The phone went quiet for a minute, and Will felt so scared. What the hell had Cas done now? She'd only gone out to get them McDonalds.

"Will?"

"Oh my god, Cas! What the fuck did you do!"

"I'll explain when you get here, bails only £200 and I'll venmo you the money after," she almost begged, and Will sighed.

"I'll be there in 10 minutes. Let me just call an Uber,"

"See you then," and the phone went dead.

Will was in full panic mode. It's not that he couldn't afford to pay bail, and he certainly wasn't having Cas repay him, but he was most worried about what he had heard her say last night. When she thought he was asleep.

She said she loved him.

He ordered the Uber and waited outside, locking the flat with the keys she had left behind.

Eventually, after a painfully long 10 minutes, he arrived at the police station and paid bail, waiting anxiously as she walked out in handcuffs. They were unlocked and their cold McDonalds breakfasts were handed back to them with their large cokes.

"Thanks," she whispered, and they walked out together. "We can walk to a park or something?" she suggested, shrugging.

Will simply nodded. "Sounds good. And then you're going to tell me why the hell you were arrested,"

She chuckled.

"It's a funny story, I promise."

They sat on a park bench, putting their separate bags of McDonalds food between them. Will reached in and got out his McMuffin, as did Cas, and they began to eat.

"So, enlighten me, Cas. Why were you arrested? he looked at her, taking a large bite of his McMuffin.

"So..."

Cas was walking to the nearest McDonalds with a smile on her face and the wind in her hair. Having finally admitted she loved Will, she felt a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

She walked into the almost desolate McDonalds and waited behind 2 people.

One of them being Mia.

As long as Mia didn't talk to her, Cas knew she wouldn't lose it. Not again.

"Oh," Mia muttered, seeing Cas behind her. "It's you," disgust poisoned her words. So much for not talking.

"Yeah it is me, you absolute skank. Don't talk to me again," Cas shrugged Mia off, which she could tell got under Mia's skin.

Mia ordered and waited for her food, and Cas ordered her and Will's food. Due to the early hour and the understaffed McDonalds, service was slow.

"Big order, Cassandra. I can tell why your looking a bit...chubby," she looked Cas up and down, and Cas just laughed.

"It's just Cassie, you condescending cow. And it's not all for me. It's actually for me and Will," she smiled sweetly, and Mia just looked disgusted again.

"Sloppy seconds?" Mia laughed. "Sounds pathetic, but what else should I expect from you?"

"You were literally just a rebound. You know Will and I kissed the night you shagged one of his best mates?" Cas snarled. "That's pathetic, as well as the fact that you shagged George."

Mia was left in a stunned silence as they were handed their orders. Cas led out with Mia following just behind.

"You literally left him after leading him on for ages because you were 'depressed'. Grow the fuck up. You only want him now because I had him. And you should've heard how much he wanted me," Mia smiled, and Cas turned around outside of the McDonalds.

"Fuck off, Mia,"

"You think I'm the rebound? You two are suddenly kissing and loving eachother after Will and I finish. You, Cassie, are the rebound. That's pathetic, you ugly little pig."

Cas' fist hit Mia's face. Mia smirked as she saw a police car across the street and dramatically fell with a shrill scream.

The officer then came running over and promptly arrested Cas for assault.

"Jesus, man," Will shook his head. He felt bad for his initial reaction upon hearing she was arrested.

"I just got off with a thousand pound fine. It could've been worse," Cas shrugged. "I mean, if you think about it, I paid a grand to smack Mia."

Will laughed and put an arm around her. He then realised what he had done, and waited to see if Cas reacted weirdly to his arm being around her.

She didn't.
She acted normal.

"I'm glad you've had a fun morning, but I actually need to talk to you about something more serious," he saw Cas become more concerned.

"What is it?" she began to nervously play with her hands, looking down before looking back up at Will.

"I heard you last night," he whispered. It was almost silent, apart from the birds tweeting in the background and the gentle breeze making the trees and their leaves shake and rustle. "You said you love me, Cas."

Will could see that Cas didn't know what to say. She didn't need to speak.

"I love you too." he looked nervous as he reached for her hand and entwined their fingers.

They slowly turned to eachother, awkwardness fading, and kissed.

It wasn't like the kiss from the balcony. It was a kiss of intense passion, love and no fear.

They were free to love eachother again; no Mia, no boundaries.

"I'm so glad you punched Mia. I'm so glad you told me you love me," Will gently cupped Cas's face. "I'm just so fucking glad I have you."

also i know the legality & punishment of assault or any crime isn't carried out like this but it's just simpler than going through the legal system and court ://
