Ryan smiled, seating himself on the bus that had just recently arrived. He had chatted with Ray until three in the afternoon rolled around, of course, when they weren't tending to the needs of their customers. The two had exchanged kick usernames and Ryan waved Ray goodbye, hoping that he would be able to talk to them in person again soon. For now, talking online would have to do.

He switched chats from Ray's to Brendon's, his thumb hovering over Brendon's contact with hesitation for a few moments. He took a breath. Deep down, Ryan prayed to a god he didn't believe in that Brendon wouldn't answer. Still, he knew Brendon would answer since school had ended and Brendon seemed to be obsessed with Ryan.

ryanross : hi brendon

brenny 💙 : hi ryan

brenny 💙 : how are you feeling?

ryanross : huh?

Ryan very quickly remembered he faked being sick. Before Brendon could send another message, Ryan speedily messaged again.

ryanross : oh right, yeah, i'm still kinda sick

brenny 💙 : well i hope you feel better soon :)

brenny 💙 :  see ya

ryanross : oh bye

Ryan let out a surprised hum under his breath.  Brendon was actually following through, not making a big deal of it. Ryan could somehow sense, however, that Brendon was having a tough time keeping his excitement under control while texting. The teenager slipped his phone into his backpack and stared out of the window of the bus, still unsettled about arriving home after ditching school.

He feared that someone would discover why he was missing, specifically Gerard. Sure, Ryan trusted Frank with keeping this whole ordeal silent, but Gerard knew how to charm Frank into telling him anything. And if anything, Gerard could even convince Ryan to rat himself out. Hopefully he wouldn't suspect anything, though, and this whole thing would blow over with a gust of wind.
