"what!!!!!!  It's eight thirty I am late for work  again." Cindy said as she drew her bedroom curtain.
Finally she could live a peaceful life, they had moved to Manhattan with her family and it had been three years since she got a note from an unknown person reminding her what had happened four years ago when she was still a senior in high school. She ran downstairs and after taking a sip of water locked her door. As she strived to reach her car her heels made her trip side ways.
"I can't be late for work again," she opened her car door, slammed it and drove at a wild speed. She was working as a secretary at an art company but not permanently because she had to join college in a few weeks time.

She reached the office door and looked at the watch on her wrist, "phwee!" She sighed, she was early by five minutes, she had slept late the previous night struggling to finish the work her boss had given her. She went to his office and so glad not to find him in, she placed the files on his locker. Just as she was about to turn the door knob she heard footsteps, then a familiar voice,
"Did you think about what I told you."

"Not again, " she said to herself....how could her boss ask her out, he was twelve years older than her and at this point she didn't care about hurting his feelings, it was now becoming too much and annoying for her to handle she wished she had arrived earlier before him...buried in her thoughts she could hear his footsteps heading closer towards her direction she flinched and all she could hear in her head was, "Open the door and ran."

After this she was sure he was going to fire her, she reached her desk and was glad that he did not follow her, Cindy wanted to leave this job so desperately but if she did so how could she pay for her college fee and rent. She stood hundred of meters away from the office building wandering what she could do to get out of that mess.

As she headed to the subway her cell phone vibrated and she picked and looked at it, "Happy birthday darling come home today we have missed you,"  her mom had texted, she did not take her car keys from her office desk and had to use the subway to head back to her house and later  to her parents ,it had been six months since she had moved out from her parents house.

She hated her birthday, how could her older sister die on her tenth birthday, her parents had never spoken to her about her sister's death but they were so overprotective of her since that day. After stopping by her house and taking a shower she left at exactly six in the evening. "Happy twentieth birthday Cindy," her dad told her, her mum was so glad to see her and she had a little sister Bianca who loved her so much. she was only three years old but yet managed to sing her sister happy birthday.

After feasting, though not happy because her birthday always reminded her of her sister's death, she had to stay over at her parents place, she was so glad to visit because it kept her from thinking about the office and her boss. She had not reported she had checked out but it didn't bother her too much because lately she had a lot on her mind. Her boss gave her the creeps from the first day of work, she had sworn to only concentrate on her work and nothing more.
