No! please, spare me, I....I don't want to die, please I'll do anything, don't drug me there, stop! please stop!......."Cindy! Cindy! wake up are you okay! Cindy! It's okay, mom is here with you, you are just dreaming."
It was 7:00a.m in the morning, how could I start my day with such an awful dream and memory, Cindy thought. She wasn't ready to talk about it nor did she ever want to speak about that occurrence. Her dad had gone to sign some forms in the nurse station so that she would be discharged. She had earlier told her mom that she would move out after recuperating at home for a few days and she had agreed reluctantly. After arguing with her for quite sometime they agreed that her mom would check on her at least twice a month.
Her friends had come all the way from Texas to check on her. She gazed at her mom suspiciously wondering how they knew where she was and yet she had cut ties when they moved to Manhattan. Tamara rushed straight to her and hugged her smiling which left Cindy wandering because they were not that close. She was the cause of all her problems when they were seniors in high school. They had clicked at first but later on that incident caused Cindy to draw back. She wanted to slap her and pull her hair out, she had placed a scar in her heart that she would forever carry in her heart and dreams. Justin knew very well and kept his distance, "hey buddy long time no see," he said smiling.
"Please get out! both of you " Cindy whispered closing her eyes and holding back her tears and compressing her chest, "Cindy we are... " I said get out both of you, memories of the incident flashed back and the pain in her chest was back, she cried out loud, "mom please get them away from me."
"Guys I'm sorry you need to go, today is not the right day for this, " Cindy's mom then helped Cindy use her inhaler.
"It's okay honey, take three deep breaths slowly, It's okay." Cindy had fallen asleep again and her mom could see the frustration and fear on her face and this made her mad. The doctor walked in and said that she would be discharged that evening, he called her mom outside to talk and her dad was coming from the nurse's office to join the doctor and Cindy's mom.
"This is not an issue of asthma, your daughter needs serious cancelling," the doctor said. The mom looked at the doctor dumbfounded, she didn't know the seriousness of the issue. "Has Cindy ever had an incident that caused trauma?" the doctor asked, "Yes but she never talks about it every time we ask she shuts us out."
''You better do something about it before it turns out to be part of her, '' the doctor said and left the two. Cindy's mom went and sat holding her head in frustration, she didn't know what to do with her daughter. Her husband on the other hand paced to and fro in the room.
