"Momma cuts it," Carson said looking at his plate of pancakes.

Deacon wanted to come to IHOP so that's where I brought the kids.

I'd ordered Deacon and Carson some pancakes. Erin and I ordered some omelets, bacon, and toast.

"I'll cut it for you," Erin offered.

Carson looked at Erin skeptically then at me.

"Daddy please," he said pushing his plate towards me.

"Carson it's ok if Erin cuts it. She's daddy's friend," I said.

Carson looked slightly confused and just put his thumb in his mouth.

I got a knife and started cutting my son's food for him.

When I was finished and pushed the plate back over to him.

He smiled and took his thumb out of his mouth.

"Thank you daddy," he said.

"You're welcome bud," I said.

"You have such well mannered kids," Erin said with a smile.

"Yeah they're good," I said proudly.

We all ate our food and Erin and I had light conversation.

Everything was going great until we started finishing up. Noah began crying and I knew he had to be hungry too.

I had no bottles for him and knew I'd need to stop by the office to have Jasmine feed him.

I had picked up Noah and tried calming him down but he was very fussy.

"Can I hold him?" Erin asked.

"Sure but he's hungry. I need to go by and see Jasmine," I said.

I handed Noah to Erin and she rocked him in her arms.

She then had him rest his head on her shoulder as she rubbed his back.

"You're ok little one," she said soothingly.

Noah seemed to calm down just by Erin's soothing tone.

I paid for our food then got the boys while Erin carried Noah out.

We all walked to the parking lot and I got the boys in their seats before putting Noah in his car seat.

Erin and I got in the car and I headed to the office.

There was heavier traffic than usual and it took me forty-five minutes to get to the office.

When I pulled into the parking garage I parked beside the car I knew had to be mine.

Jasmine had driven the Porsche.

"Jasmine's here?" Erin asked confused.

"Yeah. They voted me out while I'm under investigation and my mother and father picked Jasmine as my temporary replacement," I explained.

"Wow. She doesn't have corporate business experience does she?" Erin asked.

"No but I rather her in my place than anyone else," I said honestly.

I got out of the car and got the boys out before I got Noah out.

Erin stayed in her seat.

"You coming inside?" I asked.
