Evan's held me back enough in life. I'm ready to go out and get what I want by myself.
After having a miscarriage I realized this could be a new beginning for me.
For the first time in a week since miscarrying I wanted to get dressed and leave the house.
I had texted Stewart so we could meet up and talk about that possible job position he had offered the last time we saw each other.
I did my makeup and curled my hair. I put on a black mini skirt, a camel colored knitted sweater, thigh high boots, and a long coat.
I grabbed my purse and headed out of my bedroom.
I knew Evan's mother was downstairs with the kids so I was just going to ask if she could watch them for a couple hours.
I walked downstairs and went to the living room.
"Momma!" my sons said in unison.
They got up and ran over to me.
They hugged my legs and I hugged them back.
"Hey my babies," I said.
"Where are you going?" Deacon asked.
"You look pretty," Carson said.
"Thank you sweetheart and momma is going to run an errand," I said.
"Can we come?" Deacon asked.
"Not this time sweetie. But if grandma doesn't mind watching you two for me for another couple hours I'd really appreciate it," I said as I looked up at Mrs. Sharp.
"I hope you're going to see my son," Mrs. Sharp said with a hopeful smile.
"I'll be back in a couple hours," I said.
Mrs. Sharp just nodded and I left.
I wasn't going to see Evan. I didn't even want to think about him.
Getting this job working for Stewart would be my first step towards getting from under Evan's thumb.
When I gave him his engagement ring back that was me asking for space. That was me wanting to press pause on our relationship.
I looked at all the cars in the garage and tried to decide which one I wanted to drive.
I want to roll up to my meeting with Stewart like a boss ass bitch.
I picked up the keys to the Maserati GranTurismo Sport. It was all black with chrome wheels.
I still remember the day Evan drove this car home. He looked so sexy when he drove up into our driveway in it and stepped out in his suit.
I slid into the driver's seat and backed out of the garage.
I headed to this restaurant downtown to meet Stewart.
I arrived at the restaurant around one in the afternoon. I pulled up to valet then headed inside.
When I walked up to the hostess stand I gave Stewart's name and was led to his table.
Stewart was already seated and had ordered us drinks and appetizers.
"Well don't you look gorgeous," Stewart complimented me as he stood up.
We shared a brief hug then he pulled out my chair for me.
We sat outside on the patio.
After I was seated Stewart sat down across from me.
