After almost an hour, the interval is announced and Kijin sighed out in relieve when his friends joined him. "Where did he go?" Kujo asked when he could not see Jaylen anywhere in sight. "I saw him heading backstage to the waiting room." Kijin answered and Kujo nodded, walking towards the waiting room but stopped in his tracks when he saw Jaylen talking to a staff, who is mending the entry way to the backstage.
"Jay. Good to see you again this year." The staff said and Jaylen smiled. "Good to see you too Kai." Jaylen greeted back behind his mask. "A group caught your eyes?" Kaiden, the staff's first name, asked and Jaylen nodded. "Your old group?" Kaiden asked and Jaylen bit his lips behind his mask. Kaiden chuckled. "You are so easy to figure out." He said and Jaylen just faked a smile. *I thought he doesn't have any friends aside from Kyle but i guess i'm wrong.* Kujo thought in his mind as he kept spying on Jaylen.
Soon, a group of cosplayers came out and hugged Jaylen. "Jay, are you coming back?" One of them asked and Jaylen shook his head. "Just here to give you guys some pointers to win this year." Jaylen said and soon, he went to a discreet area with them where no one else is around and started dancing to the music as he showed them how to give the audience and the judges an impression they will never forget. As Kujo is watching him, his eyes widened, amazed at how smoothly Jaylen is dancing and also, a new side of Jaylen has been discovered.
Once Jaylen finished teaching, one of the cosplayers looked at Jaylen. "Jay. Why don't you come back? Or.. Is your family situation still not solved yet?" The cosplayer asked and Jaylen sighed, pain and sadness could be seen in his eyes. "I won't be participating anymore. Me and Kyle left three years ago. You can try persuading Kyle to come back but not me. Sorry guys." Jaylen said with a dejected tone in his voice as he turned around, walking back to the crowd as he sighed behind his mask, his eyes becoming teary.
"Guess he hasn't recovered yet." One of them said and the rest of the cosplayers nodded. *I guess.. There's something he is hiding. And it is hurting him.* Kujo thought and both his heart and mind is screaming at him to help Jaylen.
