His Glimmer Of Hope

Chapter 30

Just moments before the car could hit the unconscious Jaylen, he was being saved and pulled towards the pavement. "Jay? Jay! Wake up." A frantic Kujo called out to Jaylen, in an attempt to wake him but to no avail. Kujo bit his lips as he called the ambulance and ended the call after telling the paramedic everything he knows.

While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, he kept calling out to Jaylen as his eyes soon became teary. Fear slowly crept inside him as he thought of the worse. Right before he loses his mind of losing the person he love and cherish, the ambulance arrived. The paramedics came out with a stretcher and carried the unconscious Jaylen onto the stretcher.

As Kujo is answering some questions from one of the paramedics, the other two paramedics tried their best to get Jaylen out of unconsciousness. "Do you want to come along with us to the hospital?" The paramedic who was questioning Kujo, asked, and Kujo nodded his head. "You may sit at the passenger seat at the front." He said and Kujo nodded, trying to calm himself down and tried thinking positive stuff.

Once the ambulance arrived at the hospital, the nurses and the two paramedics pushed Jaylen towards the emergency room. Kujo got off the vehicle and waited outside the ward as the doctor check on Jaylen. After awhile, the doctor and a few nurses rushed Jaylen to the operation room, shocking Kujo as his mind froze at the worst case scenario he could think of. "Mr..." A nurse spoke up, breaking Kujo out of his thoughts.

"Axel.. I'm Axel." Kujo answered the nurse and she nodded. "What happened to Jaylen?" He asked frantically, worrying as well. "He has swallowed a large amount of sleeping pills so the doctor and nurses are rushing to pump out the drugs and clean out the body of any remnants of  the drugs." The nurse said, which doesn't exactly calm Kujo down but at least now he knows Jaylen can be saved. "Will he.. Die?" Kujo had to swallow a lump of saliva stuck in his throat to ask that question. "The percentage of that happening is quite low as the patient is being brought here just in time to be saved." The nurse replied calmly and Kujo sighed out in relieve as he slumped back down onto the chair he was sitting.

After almost three hours of Jaylen inside the surgery room, the door opened and Jaylen is being rolled out on the stretcher, into a ward. Kujo then walked towards the doctor. "How is he?" Kujo asked, worried. "He is safe and since we have just pumped out all the drugs and other nutrients inside his body, he will be feeling hungry but try not to let him eat any solid food since his body and stomach are weak for the time being." The doctor explained and Kujo thanked the doctor and the doctor left while Kujo went to Jaylen's ward, sitting beside him as he hold Jaylen's hand, getting teary eyed at how thin and weak Jaylen's hands are.
