His Glimmer Of Hope

Chapter 17

Once the festival ended, Kujo went up to Jaylen and tapped his shoulder from the back, making Jaylen jump in shock. He turned around and his head cocked to a side, confused, until Kujo removed the mask he is wearing, that Jaylen's eyes widened in surprise. "K-K-Kujo?" Jaylen stuttered and Kujo smiled. "Wha-what are you doing here?" Jaylen asked, still shocked and surprised to see him. "Came to see you of course." Kujo smiled. "It has been awhile since the last time we met." Kujo said. "I missed you." He added with a smile. "Although we still chat often, it is just not the same as meeting in person." Kujo said, making Jaylen blush.

Aiken, Sara, Kyo, Kijin and Niko soon gathered around Kujo. "Hey." Kyo greeted with a smile and Jaylen smiled. "Want to grab dinner before we all head home?" Aiken asked and Jaylen slowly nodded his head, although it took some contemplating in his mind. Kujo smiled. "That's great then." Kujo said and he walked at the back with Jaylen, the same as their first meeting. "Jay. Can we hold hands?" Kujo asked softly and even though Jaylen is looking down, his blush is shown evidently on his face, making Kujo chuckle at how cute and innocent the male beside him is.

"So? Can we?" Kujo asked once more when there is no reply from him. "Umm.. Err... Uh..." Jaylen kept stammering, no words could come out of his mouth since his mind doesn't want to yet his heart wants it. Kujo simply smile and his hand went to touch Jaylen's hand, sending shivers to Jaylen and he slowly, naturally, held Jaylen's hand in his own big, warm hands. Although Jaylen is afraid of Kujo touching his hand due to the fear of him feeling his fresh, unhealed wounds, his heart slowly melted at the warmth he always wanted, feeling the hole in his heart finally being filled.

"You do know you have to curl your fingers around mine, right?" Kujo asked when he noticed Jaylen's fingers are stiff and he used his other hand to curl Jaylen's hand and he smiled. "I like how your hand fits in mine perfectly." Kujo said as he blushed at his own cheesy pick-up line and expected Jaylen to laugh at him but instead, Jaylen's blush darkened as he kept looking down. Kujo smiled and decided to leave it at that as they walked to the subway train.

Once they arrived at the underground subway, Jaylen kept standing slightly behind Kujo, trying to hide that they are holding hands. "Come on, you don't have to be afraid." Kujo said softly but Jaylen just shook his head, his blush not fading.  Kujo's friends noticed and tried hard not to coo at how cute these two are as they chatted amongst themselves while waiting for the subway train to arrive.
