Chapter 31

Once the nurses finished putting the IV drip on Jaylen, one of them went up to Kujo. "Excuse me Mister. Umm.. Do you, perhaps, know if he have any symptoms or signs that he has depression?" She asked and Kujo looked at the nurse, shocked at first but confusion showed soon after. "Umm.. Not that i know of.." Kujo finally spoke after a few minutes of thinking.

"But.. I did notice his wrists have cuts." Kujo said after remembering the day he saw the cuts on his boyfriend's wrist. "I see. But did he seek any therapy to help him with his depression or did he tell you the cause for his depression?" The nurse asked and Kujo shook his head. "It seems his depression has escalated and the cuts have gone deeper and beyond his wrist. We can recommend him going to see a psychiatrist but if he is not willing, maybe you try talking to him? Getting him to talk more about the cause of his depression helps too." The nurse suggested and Kujo nodded, thanking the nurse for wanting to help his lover.

The nurse just smiled and left the ward, leaving Kujo alone with Jaylen. "Jay.. Why would you do that?" Kujo said softly as he caressed Jaylen's weak hand with his thumb while holding Jaylen's hand. In an hour or so, Jaylen's eyes slowly fluttered open and Kujo looked at him, concern and happiness filled his eyes. Happy to see that Jaylen is awake yet concern about Jaylen's mental and physical health. When Jaylen opened his eyes fully, he couldn't think straight and blinked a few times, trying to grasp his surroundings.

"Jay? Babe?" Kujo's gentle voice which fills with warmth, made Jaylen face him. "Kujo.." Jaylen spoke up, his tone weak. "Why are you here?" He asked and Kujo caressed Jaylen's sunken cheek with the back of his free hand. "I saved you. I was worried since you never replied to my calls nor messages. But i met you coincidentally since i was on my way to the convenience store when i saw you in the middle of the busy road." Kujo explained and Jaylen sighed, slightly upset that his suicide had failed.

"Babe? Can you.. Tell me about your sickness? Why would you do that?" Kujo asked softly, treading carefully with his question. Jaylen bit his lips, not really wanting to say since he did not want Kujo to look down on him if he knew he have mental illness. But after a long while of consideration, Jaylen sighed out. "I.. I suffer from depression for almost eight years." Jaylen started, shocking Kujo at the amount of years he have to suffer alone. "I was okay most of the time. I only self-harm when i got triggered." Jaylen said and Kujo patted his head, comforting him.

"But.. It got worse due to the stress.." Jaylen stopped halfway and Kujo looked at him. "Is it about the comments?" Kujo asked slowly and Jaylen just bit his lips as he looked away. "Sorry." Came Jaylen's quick reply and Kujo sighed out, ruffling Jaylen's hair gently. "Why are you apologizing?" Kujo asked. "Because.. Th-those are your fans and.. They are probably saying that since i'm not really a good match for you." Jaylen mumbled and Kujo just simply smile.

"Now.. Why should they care about my love life? I can like and date whoever i want. I know they are fans but please don't take everything they say to heart. I am the one you are dating, the one you like. Shouldn't the words i say and the actions i show you be taken more seriously than people that don't really know us?" Kujo said and Jaylen sighed. "I guess so.." Jaylen simply said and Kujo smiled.

"So.. If you have any problems or worries, just talk to me, alright? I really love you Jay. Take my words to heart." Kujo said and Jaylen nodded, finally facing Kujo. Kujo smiled and kissed his cheek. For the first time in the past one month, Jaylen finally smiled.
