Kujo kept holding Jaylen's hands and finally, he saw those scars and cuts without it being hidden by any wrist bands. His heart broke, wondering just how much Jaylen have to suffer that made him do it. "Babe?" Kujo's voice spoke, breaking the silence between them and Jaylen looked at Kujo. "What else.. What else made you feel that way? To make you hurt yourself?" Kujo asked, curious.
Jaylen swallowed his saliva, hesitant to say it out. "Is it something you don't want to say?" Kujo asked, noticing Jaylen's hesitance but he shook his head. "Is it hard to say it then?" Kujo asked, prompting him and Jaylen nodded. "It's okay babe. I'm here, right?" Kujo said softly as he hold Jaylen's hand tighter.
Jaylen nodded and took a deep breath. "My.. Mom.. She and her boyfriend.. They keep discriminating against LGBTQ+ people and they will criticize guys, saying hurtful things, if they saw guys putting on make-up." As Jaylen said this, his eyes became teary and his voice almost broke a few times. Kujo bit his lips, his heart hurting when he saw just how hurt Jaylen is. "Have they.. Said something about you?" Kujo asked, moving himself from sitting on the chair, to beside Jaylen on the bed, holding his slim waist, letting Jaylen rest on his chest.
"Did you.. Call my mom?" Jaylen asked as he looked up at Kujo. "The nurses did." Kujo said softly and Jaylen sighed as he looked down. "What's wrong?" Kujo asked as he looked at Jaylen, confused and worried. Just then, the door to the ward opened. "Jaylen!" A woman said as she entered the room, followed by a male. Jaylen nudged Kujo slightly, telling him to get down from the bed, not wanting his mom to see them being close.
Kujo got the signal and moved away from Jaylen slowly. Jaylen's mom then went to Jaylen. "I heard you got into an accident. What happened?" His mom asked, slight worry could be heard in her tone. "I.. Accidentally tripped." Jaylen lied and Kujo looked at Jaylen, wondering why he did it, when his questions are being answered.
Jaylen's mom saw the scars and cuts on his arms and she clicked her tongue. "Really? Again with the cutting? I thought we are already done with this?" She said, annoyance in her tone and Jaylen just looked down. "Why must you always make me the bad one? Will you finally be happy if everyone hates me? Knowing i'm a bad mother?" His mom said and Jaylen bit his lips. "If you hate living with us so much.. You can leave and stay in your college dorm for all i care." Jaylen's mom's boyfriend said and pulled his mom out of the ward.
Jaylen could feel his heart hurting again and as his emotions slowly took over, his hand started scratching his own wrist. Kujo noticed and hurriedly pushed Jaylen down on the bed, pinning his hands down as well. "Jay. Stop it. Come on. Look at me." Kujo said and Jaylen finally calmed down slightly, looking at Kujo. Kujo sighed out and hug Jaylen tightly. "Calm down, alright?" Kujo said softly as he rubbed Jaylen's back and before he knew it, he could feel his shirt getting wet. Kujo just sighed internally as he caressed Jaylen's head softly.
After almost an hour, Jaylen pushed Kujo slightly and Kujo removed himself from Jaylen. He then wiped away the tears and tear stains on Jaylen's face. "Feeling better?" He asked softly and Jaylen nodded. "Sorry.. You.. Had to see something like that." He said softly and Kujo shook his head. "Jay? I know this is fast but.. Do you.. Want to.. Live together?" Kujo asked and Jaylen looked at Kujo, shocked. "Live? As in.. Stay together? In the same apartment?" Jaylen asked and Kujo chuckled. "Yes. What other meaning could it be?" He asked and Jaylen looked down. "I think it will be better than living with your mom and her boyfriend." Kujo said and Jaylen nodded, agreeing with Kujo.
"I'll give you some time to think about it." Kujo smiled as he ruffled Jaylen's hair. "I.. I want to stay with you too." Jaylen said and Kujo looked at him, a smile on his face. "That settles it then. We'll start living together once you are discharged." Kujo said and Jaylen nodded with a smile. "For now.. I want you to rest, alright?" Kujo said and Jaylen nodded. He soon fell asleep once his head hits the pillow. Kujo smiled and tucked Jaylen in.
