Lance stood near his team that night as he could hear everything but he felt so lost in the darkness he could only see. He heard children of the planet laughing as there was music and the delicious smells of the food that was being prepared by chefs and could hear hunk whining how good it smelt.

"It's you!" He heard a young voice cry and crashed into his leg.

"Your here! I can't believe it!" A boy jumped excitedly and lance thought for a strong moment to remember who this was. The little boy he rescued...

"Oh hey little man," Lance smiled kneeling in front of him hopefully but felt the boy hug him tightly around the neck.

"My dads alive, because of you guys, my mom and dad are still alive and you saved me," the boy sniffled as lance hugged him back gently. He pulled away and touched the sides of lances face as he saw the scars and pale eyes.

"You got hurt," the boy frowned now concerned.

"You sometimes have to get hurt to make sure others people live," Lance gulped as he looked at the boy as best he could even if it was all still black.

"Your my hero," the boy smiled again and poked lances nose giggling. Lance chuckled standing up as another pair of foot steps came over.

"I can't thank you enough for keeping Hyno safe paladin," it must've been his mother.

"Please, call me lance," he smiled softly.

"I'm aware of your name, but a paladin is a hero, you should be addressed as one for what you've done," the mother smiled kindly.

"You've sacrificed so much..." she touched his shoulder gently and lance only could nod respectfully instead of telling them that it's over... instead of being constantly reminded of it.

"Our king, he actually is my brother, everyone here is grateful for Voltron but many witnessed your strong spirit paladin, you are something else sir," she chuckled shaking her head.

"Yea it was no problem, ma'am," Lance gulped nodding again.

"I get it you lie for my sons ears but paladin I know it was more, our people happily are making something to show our gratitude," she smiled at lance happily as he laughed awkwardly now.

"Why me? I'm not the leader or right hand, they did most of the work," Lance sighed as he had his doubts lately to surround him.

"Because none of them stood up for us the way you did lance, do not bring so much negativity on yourself," she giggled walking away to go find her husband as she brought Hyno with.

"She has a point," Lotor walked behind him and Lance pursed his lips.

"I know," he sighed.

"What's the problem then?" Lotor looked at him confused.

"Everyday I'm being reminded of being blind or how it was tragic or they're sorry, it's just getting annoying," lance groaned and Lotor offered his arm to guide lance.

"May I escort you little soldier?" Lotor smirked and lance tried to hold onto his arm in one shot but his hand grabbed his wrist so he trailed up to the crook of his elbow and held on.

"Usually I don't do this so don't think your special," Lance huffed as they walked through the town that was once enslaved. The rota people sent small glared at Lotor once in a while or fearful glances and tried to get further away.

"I wouldn't imagine, as a paladin of Voltron and all," Lotor ignored the hate around him.

"I guess," he sighed.

Lotor stayed silent as he could tell lance was irritated by his new disability, he could understand for the most part, but he envied how lance was cared for by the injury that will be long term, there have been many times where Lotor was near death and many just waited and prayed for this time to be the last. He's had to prove them wrong every time.

"You don't talk much do you?" Lance asked suddenly catching Lotor off guard.

"Would you like to talk?" Lotor raised an eye brow.

"Well I mean you just let me talk, you don't have to babysit me if that's your way of pity," lance pulled himself away as Lotor gulped a little at the feeling of confusion on what this boy was talking about.

"I'm not the most chatty person, being with the galra, they're all the same as well, it's enjoyable to hear someone else to speak of themselves," Lotor assured and lance looked down frowning.

"I don't want to be annoying," lance mumbled.

"Little soldier I am sure you are anything but an annoyance," Lotor told him truthfully and lance scoffed at the name.

"Stop calling me that," Lance rolled his sightless eyes.

"Hmm I think it suits you quite well," Lotor smirked and lance grabbed his arm again for guidance.

"Nick names don't mean I trust you," lance crumbled against him and Lotor raised an eye brow in amusement.

"Of course not, i am the prince of the galra little soldier," Lotor chuckled and Lance rolled his eyes.

Suddenly they heard yelling on the side and Lotor turned seeing some men yelling at one of his generals as they came with Lotor to the dinner as his guest.

"What's going on?" Lance asked confused as Lotor glared seeing it was his kinder General Ezor.

"I'll be right back," Lotor said sternly.

"Wait no just bring me with, please," lance held on tightly and Lotor looked at the blind man but nodded.

"What's the problem?" Lotor walked over with lance as Ezor was trying not to fight back as she was given stern instructions to not start up a fight as tonight was for peace.

"You damn galra! Get off my planet!" A man yelled as Ezor looked at Lotor with wide eyes.

"I'm not even full galra!" Ezor defended.

"We are free, you lying galra can't take away our freedom!" He shoved her back but Lotor caught his General as he stepped in front of her now.

"We come for peace but you are the one that seems to want violence, as this alliance is being made I can easily break it and make sure your planet is not protected by the galra," Lotor snarled darkly as Ezor peaked behind him innocently.

"Is that a threat galra?" He got in Lotors face. Lance walked in front of them both.

"As a paladin of Voltron I am making sure that our allies are not threatened, Rotazik or galra," lance stepped up.

"Please stand down," he put his hands up for them as Lotor could see the weapons the men carried. But they backed off.

"Your lucky your the one that saved my son paladin," the leader snarled and they walked away following the man.

"You okay Ezor?" Lotor asked his general.

"Im fine, I can't find narti," Ezor pouted and she looked at lance confused.

"Paladin of Voltron huh? Your kinda small," Ezor looked at him smiling a little. "Cutie,"

"By the way your voice sounds id say your cute as well," lance smirked back and Ezor stood in front of him. She waved her hand in front of his eyes confused but Lotor grabbed her wrist.

"Ezor that's rude," Lotor said flatly.

"Ohhh he is blind, you and narti can be like best friends!" Ezor gasped clasping her hands together.

"Narti cannot speak Ezor," Lotor rubbed his forehead with a sigh.

"So?" She looked at him.

"There's... never mind," Lotor sighed again as lance snickered a little at them.
