Lotor and lance walked into the control deck as Ezor was watching out the window excited at the action as Lotor noticed Allura was gone.
"Hey Lotor?" Ezor looked at them confused seeing lance.
"If Lance is the blue paladin, why is the blue lion out and helping?" She motioned outside and Lotor looked outside with a small glare seeing it was true.
"Wait who's piloting blue?" Lance asked wide eyes as he grabbed onto someone, which happened to be zethrid.
"The princess ran off, maybe she's taking charge instead of being late," zethrid scoffed but felt lance flinch next to her and she noticed the scars over his pale eyes.
"I-I... I didn't think they'd replace me so quickly," Lance gulped.
"Oh your the paladin that sacrificed-Oh..." zethrids ears went down a little and Lance took his hand off her with concerned facials.
"Are you alright?" Lotor walked to him and placed his hand on lances shoulder.
"I'm fine," Lance smiled forcefully but it dropped as he listened to the lions firing outside against the galra ship.
——
"Dude did you see how Allura blocked that blast!? Who knew!" Pidge gasped as the Paladins walked through the doors and Allura was in the middle of all of them.
"I merely was trying to stop but I guess I blocked instead," Allura giggled covering her mouth.
"Yea at the beginning did you see how she crashed into hunk?" Keith smirked a little at her and Allura smiled at Hunk apologetic.
"It's alright, you where getting use to everything," hunk waved her off and they all stopped seeing coran with his hand on lances shoulder with the galra around them.
"Oh lance," Allura coughed awkwardly. "Are you alright? You didn't show up?"
"I got lost..." lance whispered crossing his arms with his eyes down.
"Sorry we didn't know you fell behind man," hunk walked forward but coran tightened his grip on lances shoulder.
"Then how come it was Lotor that was the one that found lance? While I was down by the castles energy crystal," coran asked in a stern voice no ones heard him use before.
"And see you princess flying the blue lion?" He looked at them disappointed.
"The lion called out to me, I simply followed her roar," Allura stepped forward to him as Lotor looked almost just as upset.
"That is not a proper excuse for your paladin to be left behind," Lotor had his arms crossed.
"Since when do you care?" Keith scoffed.
"Guys stop, it's fine,"
They all looked at lance as he just seemed defeated.
"I get why blue choose another paladin, I'm really not suppose to be hers if I can't even see, I'm glad it's you Allura," lance sighed with a small smile.
"Lance..." Shiro frowned sadly at him.
"I think it might be best with me stepping down as a paladin, we need our best soldiers in this war," he gulped but Lotor set his hand on his shoulder to stop lance from talking.
"I disagree, as a leader with my own team, this is the most disgracing thing I've witnessed in most of my years, seeing a broken soldier being left behind for his team to strive," Lotor glared at them all.
"And the team doesn't even look back," his eyes narrowed.
"It's the most common thing you have with the galra, and for that I am disappointed, I know I am only an allie and nothing more but the way you fight together is different than how you respect each other,"
Allura felt her heart stopped at those words.
"We are nothing like the galra," she hissed.
"Are you really? All I see is victory or death, you took a Paladins lion because you didn't bother finding him, as your allie who hold no responsibility of getting this paladin back to his family, found him alone in your castle," Lotor shot back.
"I apologize for your treatment lance, in my eyes, it is disrespect that would not last in a true empire," he looked at lance sadly and lance smiled a little as someone's finally stood up for him.
"Thanks I guess," lance smiled uncrossing his arms as he held them behind him.
"This isn't your empire," Shiro glared at him.
"It's not, I agree, I would not allow such foolishness," Lotor glared back darker as his eyes where slitted a little, dangerously.
"Just because your alliances with us doesn't mean you get to come in and tell us what we are doing right and wrong," Allura defended.
"Princess I'm going to have to agree with Prince Lotor," coran pursed his lips behind his mustache.
"What you did to lance was unfair," he sighed as Acxa nodded behind him as Narti had her arms crossed.
"I..." Allura looked at them all with wide eyes as she felt attacked almost by them all. "We will discuss this matter later,"
"Like me being able to see?" Lance spoke up softly.
"Lance-" "he heard us talking Allura," Pidge cut her off.
"I just find it funny and all, it might be coincidences and all but part of me thinks it's not," lance scoffed as he sounded hurt still.
"If I'm that useless of a paladin maybe instead our next stop should be earth and out of your way," he frowned as the Paladins paused at that last statement.
"Lance no thats not what we want," Shiro reached out but lance laughed.
"At this point I stopped caring what you want, maybe it's what I want," Lance laughed softly.
"We'll... we'll discuss this later," Allura closer her eyes with a soft sigh and walked out of the room leaving everyone concerned of the Paladins over all, no one knew what was going to happen to the crumbling team Voltron.
