We were yet to find out sometime soon wether we made the team or not, so trainings were mostly skill-building, and we were all somewhat equals, except of course for our "star players" sisters, Gab and Jed De Paula.
They were both really pretty, well-liked, and extremely good at basketball. And although Gab was known for her thorny attitude, she was still well liked, for she looked good, and many adored her.
Basically, she was nice. As long as you weren't on her bad side. Get there, and you won't be okay with her ever again.
"Where's sir?" I asked Mikha Baniqued, my best friend on the team who was a year older than me.
"I don't know, I saw him awhile ago, but it didn't look like he'd go."
Just as she finished that thought, Sir came in his usual playing attire.
He gave us drills, played and joke with us like usual, but something was different.
His smile was off, and his laughs were forced. He looked distracted, and at halfway through training, he left and headed upstairs.
"Keep practicing, Belle, work on your threes!" He called as he reached the elevator.
We went on, just as he asked, not wishing to disappoint him, all of us sensing something was wrong.
After quite a while, Sir Caps came down again, but now he was dressed in an army green shirt, his work slacks, a leather jacket slung over his shoulder, and a helmet in hand.
"Nice one sir!" Paulene Gueco, the person I was closest to on the team, and sir's close friend (she was a senior that year), hollered.
He didn't even glance her way, he kept walking, cutting across the court, not once lifting his eyes off the pavement.
He exited the gate, and we were all stuck there, jaws on the floor.
What in the name of all greek gods was that?!
It was so damn odd, for he never did that. Whenever he would leave, he'd always say goodbye to us, and when we made jokes, he'd make sure it was acknowledged so we don't feel like fools.
We finished our training, lead by Gab and Gueco, our captain and co-captain respectively, and headed home, all colossally baffled by our coach's sudden departure.

All day in school, I didn't see Sir Caps, and it was weird since he was always in school, and he was never absent. Ever.
All my other teammates have been asking me, and I them, and yet we came up with no conclusion as to why he left, or why he was gone now.
Aside from Sir Caps being gone, Jaz said he liked Myca, my classmate/friend, coz she was cute and she looked like Maan or something.
The day dragged on, and I was just grateful that at least I had my friends there. What was the use of a bestfriend when he was always too busy with girls?

Me, Te, and the twins hung out at 7/11 again, hoarding food.
When we got to the bus, I plugged my earphones in, set the volume to max, blocking out the world with music.
I was halfway through my playlist when my earphones were pulled out.
"What the f-" I began angrily.
"It's okay, wait, chill." Lance said nervously.
So I waited, and he plugged my earphones into his phone, playing awesome remixes of my favorite songs and whatnot.
