Chapter 13

One fine Monday morning, Jenna saw Ryan walking in front of her.

'Ryan!' She ran up to him.

'Oh hey, Jenna!' Ryan was wearing a simple green polo shirt and khaki trousers.

'What are you doing here?' She smiled between gritted teeth, trying to tell him 'You shouldn't be here!'

Unfortunately, he didn't buy it. 'Um, I'm here to pick up Tammie, be right back.'

He was about to walk past her when she stepped in front, blocking his way.

'W-wait hold it!' She exclaimed. Jenna knew that Ginny and Henry were currently filming Kevin and Tammie at a secret corner behind the fountain now. Mindy had convinced Marc to lend his camera until she finds a new one to replace the camera John had broken.

Jenna had to act fast.

'Why don't I take you to a school tour?' She smiled.

'Is there something wrong?' Ryan raised his eyebrow.

'Oh it's nothing it's just--'

'I don't need a school tour. I just want to see Tammie.'

And with that, Ryan pushed Jenna out of the way.

'Ryan!' She turned around to chase after him, but he walked too fast.

'Hey! Come here!' She called on him.

She ran past the cafeteria, across homerooms, and past the soccer field. She then spotted June not too far away, carrying her art supplies.

'June!' She shouted and pointed to Ryan coming towards her. 'Slow him down!'

June paused to think at first, then she nodded and bumped into Ryan.

'Sorry!' June smiled sweetly.

Ryan stopped. Panting, Jenna stood beside him and followed where his eyes were looking at. A hundred metres away stood a small spring of water spewing out into dark marble rock.

The fountain.

'Haven't seen that fountain before,' Ryan mumbled to himself.

Before Jenna could utter a reply, Ryan had started walking towards the fountain.

'Dammit!' Jenna sighed exasperatedly and followed him.

'There's nothing interesting about this fountain, Ryan,' Jenna caught up with him and waved her arms at him.

'What's the matter with you?' Ryan pulled her shoulders free.

'B-because you're just so random.' Jenna replied.

'I think this place is nice,' Ryan smiled to himself,'I think I shall just wait for Tammie here.'

Jenna looked over his shoulder, and to her horror she saw Kevin and Tammie not too far away.

I need to drive Ryan away from here, she thought.

Suddenly, she spotted Esther and Melvin walking along the corridor.

'Ryan, Ryan, look!' She shouted to get his attention. 'Isn't that Esther and Melvin?'

Ryan squinted his eyes to where the couple was. 'Mihi, actually.'
