To the rest of you wattpad readers out there, this is not a professional story. This is just a short story about my Orientation Group, for my Orientation Group. :)

Chapter 1

'Ehh come with me pleaaaase!' Mindy tugged on Tammie's arm.

'How many times do I have to tell you? I'm NOT going to that stupid concert!' Tammie broke free from Mindy, shaking her head in disapproval.

'But Goldenrod will be there tonight! And I heard that their guitarist is back after a long hiatus.' Mindy sighed, her eyes were twinkling behind those purple-rimmed glasses.

'Ryan is so cute, and everyone's been waiting for him to come back. He's just so charming.'

Tammie rolled her eyes. Ever since this Ryan guy came into the scene just a few weeks ago, all the girls in the town were practically going nuts. And Mindy was one of them. Judging by how detailed the girls have described him, Tammie concluded that he looked nothing more than a chipmunk.

'I wish you'd just like Ryan. He may seem mysterious and quiet, but he's sweet and cute, and such a gentleman.' Mindy pouted. 'Just come with me please? Don't leave your friend alone in the stands for once!' She tugged gently at Tammie's arm.

'You know I can't, right?' Tammie frowned. 'My father won't let me go anywhere and do anything I want.'

Both Mindy and Tammie knew that there was no way Tammie's father would give her permission to do anything. Mr Louis Tayer was very strict, and his decisions were final, otherwise Tammie would be grounded for months.

Mindy smiled sadly. 'I know that,' she said. 'but if you ever need help you can just ask me.' Tammie reached out and squeezed her hand.

'Yeah, that's what friends are for.'

'YOU! What's with this grades?' Tammie heard a slam on the table when she got home. Her father was seething with rage.

'Your Economics is failing and your Sciences are so damn lousy!' Her father was clutching a badly crumpled piece of paper and threw it at her face. 'You dare to call this GOOD grades when all the importants subjects are horrible as hell?!?!'

Louis pointed at his daughter, who was now leaning against the wall with her head down. 'And don't you EVER apologize to me, woman! I'm so ashamed for having you as my daughter.' He pointed a finger at her. 'You, go back to your room. You're grounded for a week. No TV, no computer and no phone.'

At that point Tammie was already close to tears. She couldn't handle this monstrous personality her father had, ever since her mother passed away and left them broken and unwilling to heal the wounds. But she knew she couldn't let Louis see her cry. It would make everything worse.

'And I'll be assigning a new tutor from now on. I will choose the right person for you, and you better get your grades up. Don't you know that half of my salary goes to paying your school fees? I'm not as rich as you think!' Louis waved his hand. 'Get out of my sight. You're wasting my time.' He got up and stormed off the house in his jogging attire.

Tammie picked up her results slip and slowly made her way back to her room and closed the door shut. She landed on her bed and held her pillow tightly, letting a stream of tears stain her now wet pillow.
