Chapter 37: Alliance

I just received a shocking news this morning. Margaret-- the thief who I made some hot hours with was caught. Nakakulong siya ngayon sa presinto dahil nahuli siya ni Detective Sean. I’m half relieved that she’s caught and half worried. I’m relieved because he caught someone one the act. He’s too obsess with catching Victoria dahil matagal na niya itong pinaghihinalaan.

Siya ang tipong hindi nadadala sa magandang mukha ni V at pinaninindigan talaga na isang delikadong magnanakaw si v. But now he caught Margaret, his obsession in catching V may be lessen if not diminish. Gayunpaman, a part of me is worried about Margaret.

She’s a skilled one in our world ngunit hindi ko rin naman maitatangging magaling na detective si Detective Sean. He always follows the trails and dig into it. He doesn’t know the word giving up. Hindi ko alam kung paano niya nahuli si Margaret, isa pa rin iyong malaking palaisipan ngunit nasagot ang mga katanungan sa isipan ko nang minsang makatanggap ako ng tawag mula kay Margaret.

“Hello Verona.” Her voice is seductive as always. I like girls who doesn’t only show beauty but also fierceness and skill.

“Who’s this?” nakakunot ang noong tanong ko.

“Oh, you forgot my voice? How about I’ll moan maybe you can remember.”

I scoffed and stared at the phone. It’s Margaret. I’m positive. “Yow Margaret, what’s up? Tinatawagan mo ba ako para pagdudahan din ako ng mga pulis?” Pinulot ko ang diyaryong nasa harapan ko. “I read the news.”

“I’m glad they already published it. Front page ba? Headline?” tanong niya na nagpakunot sa noo ko.

“Glad? You have a plan.” It was a statement. Sinasabi ko na nga ba. Alam kong gaya ni V ay mailap si Margaret at mahirap hulihin. Kaya nga nagtataka ako nang una kong makita ang balita sa kanya.

“Yup,” she replied, popping the ‘p’ sound. “Huge money that I can even retire after this.”

Nagpakawala ako ng malaking buntong-hininga. “Don’t tell me this is about the Black Diamond again?”

Narinig ko ang kanyang tawa mula sa kabilang linya. “Inaamin kong malaking pera rin ang katumbas ng naiwan ng Black Diamond but I assure you this one’s different. Even bigger than Black Diamond.”

“Why am I getting this call? Hindi ba nasa kulungan ka? Are you trying to frame me para kunwari ay kasabwat mo ako?” tanong ko sa kanya at muli siyang tumawa.

“Oh boy, that’s a great plan but that would only hinder me from achieving my goal. Huwag kang mag-alala you’re safe with this call. I won’t drag you to this, mahirap na kapag may kahati ako sa perang makukuha ko.”

“So what is this about?” I asked. Siguro naman hindi niya ako tinawagan para lamang makipag-usap ng ganito. There must be something.

“Those moments with you are hella wonderful and unforgettable so I’m giving you a reward for being awesome in bed,” she said in a flirty way. I looked down a little, giving my pet a look na para bang sinasabi ‘play dead’ dahil tila unti-unti siyang tumatayo. Good thing my pet is obedient.

I smirked even though she can’t see it. “I’m game for hearing you moan my name in pleasure.” I gave her the flirty tone like the one she used to me. Best thing about Israel Verona? I can dance to any music. “But... I’m not up for prison cell sex baby.”

Tumawa si Margaret mula sa kabilang linya. “Hindi iyan ang dahilan kung bakit ako tumawag. You should be thanking me because I made this phone call and right now I’m risking my life.”
