Amy's Pov

Mark is going to leave me, he is going to meet someone who isn't fucked up like I am, and she will have a job and she can take care of herself unlike me. They are going to work on this game and he will see how smart she is and he will leave me for her. I sat on the bedroom floor in the corner. Mark thinks I'm doing homework but I can't think about school. Mark is the only thing keeping me alive. If it wasn't for him they would have found me again and I would most likely be dead.

"Amy?" Mark called from downstairs.
I ran to the door and locked it then went back to my spot.

Chica started to whine and scratch at the door.

"Amy? Please, are you in here?" He was at the door.

"I wanna be left alone, I need to get used to it."

"Why are you going to be alone?" He seemed worried.

"Because your gonna find a girl who doesn't need to be held by the hand to do everything! Your gonna fall in love with her and how independent she is and leave me."

"Baby girl, I promise I will never leave you. Your the only person I will ever be in love with. Please open the door."

"I'm too broken to love."

I heard him slide down the wall.

"Your not too broken baby, you are just in a rough patch. They abused you so much that you feel broken."

"Every week you have to help me come back."

" you are getting so much better at realizing where you are. After the shower was the only time when I was brushing your hair that your mind wondered in a long time. Plus you caught it! You realized what was going on."

"Then why do I feel like I'm going backward?" I started to cry.

"Because your scared, and this is a scary thing to go through but please Amy, you are not going through this alone."

I crawled to the door and unlocked it, I waited a few seconds then opened it. He was sitting right there,

"Baby girl, I know you are scared, but please let me help you."

" Dr. Larkin said that I should be done with this part by now! But it seems like it's getting worse."

"The tracker and the news about your dad did not help your progress. It made is so much worse but it's okay, we are going to keep pushing forward and we will get you back on track."

" why do I feel like this? Why do I feel like even though you are not gonna leave me, that you will?"

"You are just scared."

I felt more tears pour out of my eyes, Mark's arms wrapped around me holding me making me feel safe.

"It's true though, you can have any girl you want, why do you want me? I'm so broken. How many times have we had this conversation and you had to hold me telling me that everything is okay?"

"There is no one else in the world I'll rather be with, so you have low self-esteem. I can help you build that up, and your self-esteem was rising! But after the few bumps in the road, you are at a standstill. It's okay, that's life. We will wipe ourselves off and keep on going."

"I don't deserve you."

"You deserve more than me, you need someone who is with you 24/7 and who don't have to leave to go to work. And I'm so sorry that I can't be home all the time but I promise I will do everything in my power to make sure you are taken care of."
