Chapter 33

"Mom! Just tell me why you have these," you said.

"I- I am a mafia leader," she answered.

"But, how? You--"

"I'm so sorry for not telling you. I just wanted you to be safe."

"Wait. Do you know about my friends?"

"Yes. The leader, Kim Seokjin, I had some deals with his father long ago. We collaborated to control so--"

"Do you even know how dangerous this is?!"

"The thing is, when I had you, your dad and I were in a mafia group at the time."

You both heard yelling.

"Y/n! Where are you? We need to go now!" Jungkook shouted. You both ran upstairs.

"Let's get in the car," Jungkook said.

"Mom, let's g--"

"You guys go now. Your vacation is done here."

"But mo--"

"Where's your dad?" Your mom asked Jin.

"He's back there."

"No! No! Mom! Please?!" You tried getting out but Jungkook stopped you. "Please let me go?! I need my mom!"

"No. Your mom told me to take care of you. I'm star--" Jungkook didn't finish.

"Mom! Please?!"

You all heard gun shots from inside the house.

"Drive!" Jin commanded.

"Mom!"

A bomb then went off after the car left the scene.

"Mo-- mom?"

"I'm sorry," Jin said.

"Why?! You made a plan without kno-- she is my only family! She's- she's gone now." You began crying and Jungkook embraced you.

"I'm still here," Jungkook whispered.

[Seoul; your house]

You ran to your room but stopped at the door before entering. Your eyes were swollen from crying so much.

"Will there be a funeral held for them?" You asked Jungkook.

"In the mofia word, they don't do funerals."

"But, what about my mom?"

"We'll see her in two weeks. They might come after you too."

"Aren't you scared?"

"I am."

"Then why choose this path?"

"Because I want to protect you."

"Protect me? You'll risk your life for me? No. I want you to live a normal life without being hunted down."

"What are you trying to say?"

"What I'm trying to say is that," you walked towards Jungkook. "I love you, but I want you to quit your gang life. I want you to stay away from guns, drugs and violence. If you can do that, let's start over." You ran back to your room and went inside.

"Mom. I miss you," you cried.
