A wind from the North blows,
bringing with it those who lie below.
With them, spreads the infection,
to what may be the darkest connection.
A crown forged from the tears of good and bad,
will choose the king whose army stands.
The light leads and the dark follows,
to the first jewel of the girl who borrowed
Then, the dark leads and the light follows,
to the send jewel of a man's true horror
A king shall be crowned where the first king stepped,
putting an end to their world's unrest.
Sometimes, anger would get the best of me. Sometimes, hatred would fill every inch of my body to the point where I would drown in it. Sometimes, I would feel the tingling sensation of wanting to kill, wanting to take my revenge, dance on my skin. Sometimes, I wanted to kill him. I wanted to see him suffer and beg for my forgiveness. But I would always reach the same dead end, the same answer, I was the one who should be begging. And he was the one who had every right to be mad. I hated that side of me, as I was completely vulnerable towards it. It made me feel small and hopeless. Even though these were two things I had grown to being and feeling, I hated doing it to myself. By feeling that way, it was like I accepted defeat. I wasn't defeated, not yet. And as much as I still love Percy, I won't be defeated by him. I won't. I won't allow him to break me down into nothing but shattered pieces of glass that, even when glued back together, the cracks and emptiness are visible.

He had defeated her. And she hadn't bothered to even put up a fight. She had no army. But he was an army on his own. She had no weapons, but her mind and wisdom, but they had failed her again. His own mind was a weapon by itself. Even Stella was a weapon of his and he had effectively wielded it, crushing her mentally and physically.
Numbness was the only emotion and feeling that had followed her around all day. She felt nothing, the hours ticked by unnoticed. Her body's exhaustion came and left like waves on a shore, but she couldn't hear them nor feel them on her skin. Guards, villains and other servants appeared to pass through her in her head, like they were ghosts.
Annabeth registered nothing nor heard it. She was in her own world. A world whose root's were built on heartbreak, fear and tragedy. Her world. And ruling it, sitting on a throne of obsidian, with her shoulders supporting it, was Percy. Merciless and dark. That's what he was. She was an idiot for ever thinking he could change. And she was a bigger idiot for ever thinking that she could make something new out of the darkness in him.
Yesterday, after she had left his office, the day had passed by in a blur. She no longer cared nor noticed the guards and villains that stared at her. She no longer tried to even start a conversation with any of the slaves that lived in the palace. She didn't want to even care. She wanted to be left alone, in her own misery. She didn't even bother to give Stella her attention or give into her taunting when Stella had purposely knocked down a vase as Annabeth was sweeping one of the many rooms in the palace.
