Chapter Sixteen

 I was sitting down in the living room, sipping on some wine. My plans for tonight was to just watch TV and drink wine. The kids are at Chris’s house. I feel like a teenager all over again. There was a knock on the door. I got up, walking over to the door. I opened it to see Cameron.

 ‘’Hey Cameron.’’ I greeted, smiling.

 ‘’Hello Kai’lani, you mind if I come in?’’ He asked. I shook my head, letting him inside. I closed and locked the door. I sat on the couch.

 ‘’What’s up?’’ I asked, looking at him.

 ‘’I was wondering if you would like to get some coffee sometime.’’ He said, looking at me. I smiled at his shyness. ‘’I know you just got a divorce, if you don’t want to you don’t have to.’’ He said.

 ‘’Cameron I would like to. At least you came here and asked.’’ I said, smiling. He got up. I got up with him.

 ‘’Ok, I’ll see you later on. Maybe we can go and get coffee tomorrow.’’ He suggested.

 ‘’That sounds good. Goodnight, Cameron.’’ I said as he walked out of the house. I closed the door, smiling. I sat down on the couch, turning to Clueless. I laid back, laughing at the movie.

 All of us were in the movie room watching Frozen, which was everybody’s favorite movie. Kalia sat in my lap, keeping her eyes on the movie screen.

 ‘’Do you wanna be a snowman daddy?’’ Kalia asked me. I chuckled, smiling.

 ‘’Baby girl you know there is no snow in Los Angeles.’’ I said.

 ‘’Can we go some place with snow then build one.’’ She suggested. I chuckled, kissing her cheek. She reminds me of Kai so much. She’s like her little twin, literally. I’m so stupid, I just let the perfect woman walk out of my life. It’s my fault. The lying, cheating and constant arguing drove her away from me.

 All these years of us fighting, getting back together, me cheating and lying to her. Getting girls pregnant and hurting her. She’s been through it all with me. I had the perfect woman. She was beautiful, smart, cared for herself and others and loved me at my worst and best. I didn’t think I would be divorced.

My own daughter seen me cheating, and now she hardly talks to me. I got caught and lost the most important person except for my mom in my life. It was worth it, now I’m single and one of my kids don’t wanna talk to me.

 ‘’Daddy I’m hungry.’’ Leilani said.

 ‘’What do you wanna eat?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Pizza.’’ She said.

 ‘’Ok, let me go order it.’’ I said, getting up. I walked upstairs to the main floor. I grabbed my phone off the counter, calling Pizza Hut. I ordered two pizzas and some wings. I looked around, sighing. It’s just not the same. I sat on the counter, waiting for the pizza man. I fucked up and now I’m single. I don’t why she didn’t divorce me earlier but I guess she wanted to see if I would change.

 I looked down, thinking about all of this. I heard the doorbell ring. I hopped down, walking over to the door. I opened it to see the pizza man. He handed the pizza and wings to me. I handed him three twenty dollar bills.

 ‘’Keep the change.’’ I said, closing the door. I walked over to the counter, sitting the pizza and wing down. ‘’Kids! The food is here!’’ I shouted. They all came running up to the stairs over to me. They all grabbed a slice or two of pizza and some wings then walked back downstairs.

 ‘’Come on daddy!’’ Kalia called. I walked downstairs, sitting down. Christian unpaused the movie. They all started watching the movie. My phone vibrated. I took it out to see it was Kelana calling. I got up, walking upstairs.

 ‘’Hello?’’ I asked.

 ‘’Hi Chrissypooh.’’ She greeted. Kelana and I met at a club for a event. We’ve been talking for a while, she’s nice and cute.

 ‘’Hey Lana.’’ I said. I heard her giggle.

 ‘’Whatcha’ doing tomorrow night?’’ She asked.

 ‘’Remember I have the kids all weekend. Why?’’ I asked, looking down at the floor.

 ‘’I was wondering if you wanna to hang but since you have your kids we can do it another time.’’ She said.

 ‘’No I’ll see if their mother can. If she can I’ll shoot you a text.’’ I said.

 ‘’Ok.’’ She said, hanging up. I sat down on the couch, going down to Kai’lani contact. I tapped on it. It rung but she finally answered.

 ‘’Hello?’’ She asked. She sounded tired.

 ‘’I was wondering if you could watch the kids tomorrow night. I’m hanging out with someone.’’ I said, hoping she would say us.

 ‘’Chris I have sometime to do tomorrow. I can’t watch the kids since you wanna go out. I love them to death Chris but every time you wanna go out and have fun I’m at home taking care of them. Also, it’s your weekend to watch the kids. I’m not married to you, so I’m not gonna do this.’’ She said, hanging up. Damn, I made her cold-hearted.

 I sighed, looking down at the floor. I’ve turned a wonderful woman to a cold-hearted one. I think I really fucked her up. I still love her but I’ve gotta move on.
